Avatar: The Last Airbender premieres February 22 on Netflix. The live-action reimagining of the beloved animated series follows Aang, the young Avatar, as he learns to master the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire, Air) to restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation. The four nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, keeping peace between them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by the firebenders towards conquering the world. With the current incarnation of the Avatar yet to emerge, the world has lost hope. But like a light in the darkness, hope springs forth when Aang, a young Air Nomad – and the last of his kind – reawakens to take his rightful place as the next Avatar. Alongside his newfound friends Sokka and Katara, siblings and members of the Southern Water Tribe, Aang embarks on a fantastical, action-packed quest to save the world and fight back against the fearsome onslaught of Fire Lord Ozai. But with a driven Crown Prince Zuko determined to capture them, it won’t be an easy task. They’ll need the help of the many allies and colorful characters they meet along the way.

The English dub of Laid-Back Camp season two premieres January 24 on Crunchyroll. Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she’s forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it’s night, in a place she’s never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. This outdoorsy girls story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.
Netflix is set to become the new home of WWE Raw beginning in 2025. Currently airing on USA Network, Raw leaves linear television for the first time since its inception 31 years ago. The long term deal comes amid other WWE series changing networks in the coming year. WWE Smackdown will move from Fox to USA Network while WWE NXT will move from USA Network to The CW. WWE events also air on Peacock.

Colin Firth is set to star in Peacock’s limited series Lockerbie. Firth will portray Dr Jim Swire, who tragically lost his beloved daughter, Flora, in the devastating event and has doggedly pursued justice, along with his wife Jane, ever since. On 21st December 1988, 259 passengers and crew were killed when Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over Lockerbie 38 minutes after take-off, with a further 11 residents losing their life as the plane came down over the quiet, Scottish town. In the wake of the disaster and his daughter Flora’s death, Dr Jim Swire, is nominated spokesperson for the UK victims’ families, who have united to demand truth and justice. Travelling across continents and political divides, Jim embarks on a relentless journey that not only jeopardises his stability, family and life, but completely overturns his trust in the justice system. As the truth shifts under Jim’s feet, his view of the world is left forever sullied. Morena Baccarin has been cast on Fire Country with the potential to spin off her character. She will guest star as a sheriff on the CBS series.
Wilson Bethel will reprise his role as Bullseye in the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again. Bethel played the role in the Netflix series Daredevil. Vincent D’Onofrio and Jon Bernthal are also reprising their roles from the Netflix Marvel series with Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson also reportedly returning.
The Weather Channel has ordered docuseries Rocky Mountain Wreckers. The adventure series is set on the deadliest highways in America – the I-80/I-15 interstate ring – and will follow the harrowing adventures of four family-owned heavy wrecking businesses across the three states: Mountain Recovery (Vale, CO), Stauffer’s Towing & Recovery (West Haven, UT), Reliable Towing (Longmont, CO) and Big Al’s Towing (Cheyenne, WY). In addition to providing an in-depth look at the teams of professionals who risk their lives daily to keep these Interstate highways open, clearing rollovers and collisions, Rocky Mountain Wreckers will also show viewers how they too can travel safely under difficult weather and climate conditions. It will premiere Fall 2024.

Mixed golf competition Capital One’s The Match will premiere on TNT, truTV, HLN and the B/R Sports Add-On on Max February 26. The ninth live event will feature Rory McIlroy, Lexi Thompson, Rose Zhang and Max Homa. For the first-ever mixed skins format, each hole will be worth a specified amount for charity. All four golfers will utilize the same tees for the four par-3 holes in the routing, while the remaining eight holes will use varying tee boxes and yardages for the men and women. The golfer raising the most funds through the skins format at the end of the event will be declared the winner.
Super Bowl Greatest Commercials XXIII: The Ultimate Countdown will air February 9 on CBS. Hosted by CBS Sports’ Boomer Esiason and actress Daniela Ruah, viewers will vote live to crown the ultimate Super Bowl commercial. The special, now in its 23rd year, heads to Las Vegas, the host city of Super Bowl LVIII. Throughout its long history, 12 different Super Bowl commercials have ranked either first or second in viewer voting. Esiason and Ruah will rank these finalists in an Ultimate Countdown before revealing their top two favorites. Then, it’s up to the viewers to decide the winner via a live online vote at the end of the show.
New Zealand drama Far North premieres February 15 on Sundance Now and AMC+. The six-episode drama tells the (mostly) true story of how the most comically inept gang to ever join forces got half a billion dollars’ worth of meth to New Zealand shores – and nearly to market. And they would have got away with it too if it wasn’t for a pesky 70-year-old Māori diesel mechanic and his aqua-aerobics instructing wife.
