Bad Monkey premieres on Apple TV+ August 14 with two episodes. Based on the bestselling novel by Carl Hiaasen, the ten episode series tells the story of Andrew Yancy who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys. But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realizes that if he can prove murder, he’ll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs and one bad monkey. 

Netflix announced casting for the remaining Endless members, who will appear in Season 2 of The Sandman. The family is now complete with the addition of Esmé Creed-Miles (she/her) as Delirium, Adrian Lester (he/him) as Destiny and Barry Sloane (he/him) as The Prodigal. These new names round out the Endless Family as they join Tom Sturridge (he/him) as Dream, Kirby (she/her) as Death, Mason Alexander Park (they/them) as Desire and Donna Preston (she/her) as Despair who are returning from Season 1. Additional returning cast includes Patton Oswalt (he/him), Vivienne Acheampong (she/her), Gwendoline Christie (she/her), Jenna Coleman (she/her), Ferdinand Kingsley (he/him), Stephen Fry (he/him), Asim Chaudhry (he/him), Sanjeev Bhaskar (he/him), Vanesu Samunyai (she/her), and Razane Jammal (she/her).  

Season three of Bel-Air premieres on Peacock August 15. In season three, school’s out for the summer, and Will is doing Bel-Air his way. Being a part of the Banks family has given him a new perspective – it isn’t just about wealth, it means that Will now has options to lean into other things that excite him and has the privilege to dream bigger. As Will makes an exciting pivot, he finds a partner in Carlton, who desperately wants to leave his life of addiction behind and rebuild his damaged reputation. And while the dynamic duo has a lot of exciting wins, working together also reveals fundamental differences in their backgrounds and worldviews. Can a partnership of such extremes work? Pressure at work and home will also pose challenges for Viv and Phil. How does a couple hold strong when their lives are at sea? Hilary’s romantic journey with LaMarcus will face some shocking hurdles, and Ashley’s views on romance will start to blossom as she comes of age the summer before she starts high school, and Geoffrey’s London past will come a little too close to home. 

Cartoon Network and Max announced the all-Nigerian cast for Iyanu, the epic superhero animated-series steeped in Nigerian culture and mythology. It is an adaptation of Dark Horse Comics/YouNeek Studios’ popular graphic novel series “Iyanu: Child of Wonder” by Nigerian creator Roye Okupe. Leading the voice cast is Serah Johnson as Iyanu, a teenage heroine who must uncover the mystery behind her newfound powers to save her people from an ancient curse threatening to destroy humanity. Okey Jude joins as Biyi, Iyanu’s carefree adventurer friend. Samuel Kugbiyi comes on board as Iyanu’s bookworm friend Toye. Adesua Etomi-Wellington will voice Olori. Set to play Toye’s father Kanfo is Blossom Chukwujekwu. Stella Damasus is set to play Sewa; Shaffy Bello has signed on to voice Emi – The One Mother; and Ike Ononye is Elder Alapani. The 26 episode, two season series, set to premiere on Cartoon Network and Max in 2025, is a superhero tale set in the magical kingdom of Yorubaland, which draws from Nigerian culture, music and mythology. Drawing deeply from the rich tapestry of Yoruba people, the animated series follows a teenage orphan girl, Iyanu, who spends her days studying history and ancient arts but yearns for a normal life. One day, responding to danger, she unknowingly triggers her divine powers, the likes of which have not been seen since the Age of Wonders. With newly discovered superpowers, Iyanu joins forces with two other teenagers, Biyi and Toye, as they embark on a remarkable journey to discover the truth about the evil lurking in her homeland. Throughout her adventure, she’ll uncover the truth about her past, her parents, and her ultimate destiny to save the world. 

Time Bandits premieres on Apple TV+ July 24. The series is an unpredictable journey through time and space with a ragtag group of thieves and their newest recruit: an 11-year-old history buff named Kevin. Together, they set out on a thrilling quest to save the boy’s parents – and the world. Guided by Lisa Kudrow, the eccentric crew of bandits embark on epic adventures while evil forces threaten their conquests and life as they know it. As the group transports through time and space, the gang stumbles upon fascinating worlds of the distant past while seeking out treasure, depending on Kevin to shed light on each situation. The Time Bandits witness the creation of Stonehenge, see the Trojan Horse in action, escape dinosaurs in the prehistoric ages, wreak havoc during medieval times, experience the ice age, ancient civilizations, the Harlem Renaissance, and much more along the way. 

Hulu has announced premiere dates for the English dubs of their anime series. New episodes of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations will premiere June 1. Go! Go! Loser Ranger! premieres June 12. Mission: Yozakura Family premieres June 17. 

HBO has ordered a new comedy series starring Steve Carell, from Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses. The ten episodes single-camera comedy is set on a college campus, centering on an author’s complicated relationship with his daughter. 

Crunchyroll has acquired Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction. The series released as a two part movie in Japan and will now air as an all-new 18-episode television series. The weekly episodes premiering May 23 will feature brand new footage never before seen in theaters. As the world is threatened by the sudden appearance of a mysterious alien mothership, best friends Kadode Koyama and Oran “Ontan” Nakagawa carry on about their high school life. But as they grow up, they face existential questions, learning adulthood’s complexities and that the true threat may not be from above. 

Production on the final episodes of Yellowstone have begun. The Paramount Network series is set to premiere in November. The series chronicles the Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park. 

MGM+ announced the full starring ensemble for their original mystery thriller series Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue. In addition to the previously announced Eric McCormack, the ensemble cast includes David Ajala as Zack; Lydia Wilson as Sonja; Peter Gadiot as Carlos; Siobhán McSweeney as Lisa; Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Travis; Adam Long as Dan, and Jan Le as Amy. A plane carrying a small group of passengers, crew and pilot, crashes in the Mexican jungle. All the bodies are recovered and placed in a morgue, but it turns out that only one of them died in the crash. The other passengers were murdered afterwards, each one in a unique way. But by whom? And why? As the story unfolds in flashback, we meet the survivors as they fight against the heat, a shortage of supplies, the many dangers of the jungle – and each other. The setting becomes increasingly tense and claustrophobic as, one by one, they are dispatched with a series of shocks that bring us ever closer to the truth and – at the very end – a jaw-dropping reveal. 

HIDIVE has acquired anime comedy series Plus-Sized Elf. The series based on the pair of popular seinen manga titles created by Synecdoche will air this July. Naoe-kun, a massage therapist, is about to head home for the day when he’s saddled with a rather strange patient. This lovely lady has emerald eyes, pointy ears, and grew up in the forest—everything about her screams “elf,” except for one thing: her bodacious body. It turns out she left her world but loves junk food in this one, and now her obsession has caught up with her. Can Naoe-kun help this loveable elf girl lose the weight—and keep it off?

All the Love You Wish For is coming soon to Netflix. The series explores the enchanting story of Jinn, a genie who awakens after a thousand years, and Ka-young, his new impassive master. Jonathan Knight will put everything on the line to make a lifelong dream renovation project come true in Farmhouse Fixer: Camp Revamp premiering June 18 on HGTV. Jon takes the biggest gamble of his real estate career – buying an abandoned 12-acre campground situated on a rural lakefront and transforming it into a dreamy New England vacation destination.
