Shondaland series The Residence premieres on Netflix March 20. The series is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world’s most famous mansion. Uzo Aduba stars as Cordelia Cupp, a consulting detective for the Metropolitan Police Department. Known for her wry humor, relentless pursuit of truth, and sharp eye for human behavior, Cupp is the most sought-after detective in the world – and an avid birder to boot. Joining her is Randall Park as Special Agent Edwin Park of the FBI, who is tasked with partnering with Cupp during a high-stakes State Dinner. While Park harbors skepticism about Cupp’s unconventional methods, their dynamic promises to be as intriguing as the mystery they seek to unravel. The series also stars Giancarlo Esposito, Edwina Findley, Molly Griggs, Jason Lee, Ken Marino, Al Mitchell, Dan Perrault, Bronson Pinchot, Julieth Restrepo, Mel Rodriguez, Susan Kelechi Watson, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Mary Wiseman and more. The series is inspired by the book, “The Residence” by Kate Andersen Brower. 

Fast Friends, hosted by Whitney Cummings, premieres December 19 on Max. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the comedy series Friends, the competition special series was filmed at The FRIENDS Experience: The One in New York City and takes place in the celebrated series’ iconic sets. From racing through Rachel and Monica’s apartment to darting across Joey and Chandler’s bachelor pad and grabbing a coffee at Central Perk, fans will re-live their favorite moments while being put to the test with trivia, puzzles, and games that will keep even the most die-hard Friends fans on their toes. The quickest team will win the title of The Ultimate Fast Friends Champion. 

Season two of Castlevania: Nocturne premieres January 16 on Netflix. Now joined by the legendary Alucard, Richter Belmont and his band of vampire hunters are in a desperate race against time. Erzsebet Báthory, the Vampire Messiah, who already seems invincible, seeks the full power of the goddess Sekhmet so she can plunge the world into endless darkness and terror. 

Help! I’m in a Secret Relationship!, hosted by Travis Mills & Rahne Jones, returns with season three January 7 on MTV. In the fourteen episode season, Travis Mills and Rahne Jones uncover the heartbreaking stories of people who have been emotionally manipulated into keeping their relationships a secret with this season’s couples hailing from New York City, Los Angeles, Tampa, Seattle, and Tacoma. These are the cautionary tales of people who believe they have found the love of their lives, only to discover lies at the core of their relationships. What if your true love is hiding a massive secret… and that secret is you? 

When the Stars Gossip premieres January 4 on Netflix. The series is a romantic comedy about an astronaut and a tourist who meet and fall in love at a space station.

Valerie Bertinelli will host Bingo Blitz for Game Show Network. The series is based on the bingo app Bingo Blitz and will premiere in Spring 2025. Two contestants compete in a dynamic blend of trivia and bingo. The ultimate game of knowledge, strategy and luck, contestants answer trivia to earn bingo balls and points. In addition to numbered bingo balls, players also receive gold balls they can strategically place on their cards to increase their chances of making a bingo. Bingos earn the players bonus points, and special ‘power-ups’ on the players’ cards earn them extra points, bingo balls and prizes. After three rounds, the player with the highest score advances to the fast-action Blitz round, where making a bingo in 60 seconds or less awards them $10,000. 

Additional performers have been announced for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2025. Performances from the West Coast Party will include Alanis Morissette, with special guest Reneé Rapp, Dasha, DJ Cassidy’s Pass The Mic Live! starring Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Slick Rick & Doug E. Fresh, Ernest, HARDY, Kesha, Laufey, Natasha Bedingfield, and T-Pain. Additionally, Blake Shelton will perform from Las Vegas, Luis Fonsi from his native Puerto Rico, and TLC joins the star-studded Times Square lineup in New York in a performance sponsored by Carnival Cruise Line. The special airs December 31, live on ABC beginning at 8 p.m. EST. 

Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt will host White House Christmas 2024 premiering December 15 on HGTV. First Lady Jill Biden will tour the historic home with hosts Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt and share how this year’s White House holiday theme – “A Season of Peace and Light” – is reflected in each room and design element, encouraging guests to embrace the peace and light of the holiday season. More than 300 dedicated volunteers from across the country will bring the theme to life with an astonishing array of decorations, including more than 165,075 holiday lights, 83 Christmas trees, 28,125 ornaments, 9,810 feet of ribbon and 2,200 doves. It will spotlight the festive holiday displays in each iconic space of the People’s House, from the Gold Star Tree exhibit that honors fallen service members and a stunning collection of bells adorning the East Colonnade to a cascade of peace doves suspended overhead in the Cross Hall and the majestic 18.5-foot-tall official White House Christmas Tree in the Blue Room. As Brian and Mika go from room to room, the couple will get a first look at the 2024 Gingerbread White House, created from an astounding 25 sheets of gingerbread dough, 50 pounds of royal icing and 45 pounds of chocolate, and they’ll help decorate the Diplomatic Room, now open to the public for the first time. 

The 6000 LB Diaries With Dr. Now premieres January 6 on Lifetime. The series follows ten morbidly obese individuals, who have collectively reached a combined weight of 6,000 pounds, and are fighting to lose it and transform their lives. Set at Dr. Now’s prominent medical facility in Houston, the 10-episode, two-hour long series features first-hand diary footage from the people who have reached a lose-or-die point in their lives. 

Animated series Isadora Moon premieres January 2 on Max. Based on the globally best-selling beloved book series by Harriet Muncaster, the series follows the delightful adventures of a half-vampire, half-fairy girl, her friends at human school, and her wider magical family. Isadora Moon is not your typical child; she embodies the magic of both worlds – embracing the enchantment of fairies and sparkles, as well as the powers of her gothic vampire side. This charming series appeals to children and families alike, showcasing themes of self-acceptance, creativity, and the beauty of being true to oneself.
