MGM+ has renewed The Institute for a second season. The horror series is based on the Stephen King novel. Season one follows the story of teen genius Luke Ellis, who is kidnapped and awakens at The Institute, a facility full of children who all got there the same way he did and who are all possessed of unusual abilities. In a nearby town, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson has come looking to start a new life, but the peace and quiet won’t last, as his story and Luke’s are destined to collide. Season one starred Ben Barnes, Mary-Louise Parker, Joe Freeman and an ensemble cast that included Simone Miller, Fionn Laird, Jason Diaz, and Jane Luk. Casting for season two will be announced at a later date.
Season two of Doc premieres on Fox September 23. Determined to get her memory back and piece together who she really is, Amy’s goal is to become the doctor she used to be in those missing years and to eventually, once again, be Chief of Internal Medicine.
