Beyond Society premieres on Netflix in 2026. The story of Flight 571 did not end on the day the survivors were rescued from the Andes. For them, and for the families of those who did not return, the hardest part was about to begin. Whilst silence reigned amongst those directly involved, the rest of the world continued to try to understand what had happened through books, films and documentaries. But how does one rebuild a life after such a tragedy? The docuseries brings together, for the first time in a single work, the survivors of the accident, the families of those who did not return, testimonies from the writers Piers Paul Read and Pablo Vierci, as well as from the filmmakers who have brought this story to the big screen, including Frank Marshall and J.A. Bayona himself. The series traces the fifty years following the tragedy, exploring with the survivors and the relatives of the deceased how that flight forever marked the lives of a community and became a phenomenon with global repercussions that inspired countless books and films.
