It looks like Angie’s (Debbi Morgan) going to have some competition for her man! Laura Koffman (ex-Cassie, One Life to Live) is making her return to daytime on Tuesday, October 28, taking on the role of Rebecca on All My Children.
This story is one which new head writer Charles Pratt has been promoting in the magazines. “Angie begins, with Tad’s help, to notice that those 20 years in which Jesse was presumed dead weren’t just a blur…There was a love affair and that love affair could come back and haunt Angie and Jesse,” the writer told Soap Opera Digest in August.
During Jesse’s time on the run, he met Rebecca and the two became very close, quite close considering Rebecca is the mother of Natalia, Jesse’s daughter.
Koffman is best known for playing Dorian Lord’s long suffering daughter, Cassie Callison-Carpenter. Koffman was a mainstay on OLTL from 1991 until 1999, when she was controversially fired while on maternity leave by then executive producer Jill Farren Phelps. Since then, the actress has made sporadic appearances. Prior to joining OLTL, Laura had a recurring role as Lindsey on Another World during 1991.
One Life fans have been holding out hope that Koffman would bring Cassie back to Llanview, but it seems they’ll have to have just a little longer. Seeing as how the Cramers are waging war against the Buchanan’s, one would think Cassie would make at least a short visit to see her mother. Who knows, maybe someday we will see her. But for now, she is headed for Pine Valley!
