MTV’s Teen Wolf wants you to ‘lose your mind’ as the series heads into the second half of its third season. In a new trailer released yesterday, fans get their first sneak peek of what’s to come when the show returns January 6.
The 26-second clip features Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) and other scenes moving in reverse. A silhouette of something possibly creepy is shown trying to reach through a barrier of some sort, keeping it at bay; with an even creepier group of students trying to communicate with Stiles. The trailer ends with Stiles screaming, “Wake up!”
I have no idea what it means, but the third season is expected to introduce the Kitsune mythology. Part of Japanese folklore, Kitsune (the Japanese word for fox), are supernatural, magical beings with the ability to shape shift. Executive producer Jeff Davis says the were-fox and the trickster spirit of Kitsune lore will play a major part of the second half of this season.
