Anna Devane is here to stay! Emmy winner Finola Hughes has been bumped to contract status on ABC’s General Hospital.
GH executive producer Frank Valentini tweeted news that the beautiful Brit was staying this afternoon.
As for the #GH casting news, thanks for waiting… I am so excited to announce the lovely @finolahughes is now on contract!

The news should come as no surprise those who follow the actress on Twitter, as she stated on numerous occasion that she had no plans to leave (though we know it’s not always up to the actor). Hopely Hughes’ new contract status will assuage concerns by some fans, who felt that Valentini and new head writer Ron Carlivati’s priority was re-creating One Life to Live; giving contacts to former OLTL stars Kristen Alderson (Starr), Michael Easton (John) and Roger Howarth (Todd) over the GH fan favorites – Tristan Rogers (Robert), Emma Samms (Holly) and Rick Springfield (Noah) – who returned for guest appearances in February and March.
Should fans hope there’s a contract in store for Robin Mattson (Heather) and the soon-to-return Kristina Wagner (Felicia)? Only time will tell. In the meantime, welcome home Finola!
