It’s our favorite time of year: Upfront Week aka what’s airing when in the fall. The CW became the latest and final network to show off its new lineup on Thursday. The CW will launch its 2018-19 season in October, with premiere dates to be announced later.
As previously announced, the youth-skewing network will be adding two more hours of programming by expanding to Sunday nights. And it looks like the ladies will be reigning supreme with Supergirl kicking off the night followed by the reboot of Charmed.
“It is such an exciting time at The CW,” network president Mark Pedowitz said in a statement to the press. “We are thriving, innovating, and now we’re expanding, adding Sunday nights to our prime time lineup this fall. Starting in October, we will have 12 hours of original scripted series on our schedule–more than any other broadcast besides CBS.”
Joining Charmed in its rookie season will be All American, a series based on the real life of NFL star Spencer Paysinger, and Legacies, the continuing Vampire Diaries/Originals-verse saga centering on Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell) and her life at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted.
The CW also announced this would be the final season for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, launching in the fall, Jane the Virgin, and iZombie. The latter two will be held until midseason along with The 100, new series In the Dark, and the final new series for 2018-19, the Roswell reboot, Roswell, New Mexico.
