A new featurette for the upcoming new Disney+ Star Wars series, The Book of Boba Fett, has been released. Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen along with Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau and Robert Rodriguez discuss the history and journey of the character Boba Fett. The series premieres December 29. 

HBO Max released a promo for their upcoming series and movies set to premiere in 2022. Featured in the sizzle reel are HBO Max titles like Gossip Girl, Hacks, Raised by Wolves, Legendary, The Flight Attendant, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, Peacemaker, Our Flag Means Death and more. Additionally, HBO originals like Barry, Westworld, A Black Lady Sketch Show, His Dark Materials, House of the Dragon, Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, The Time Traveler’s Wife, The White House Plumbers and more are featured

Season three of FX’s Atlanta is finally set to return March 24. The second season aired in 2018 and was renewed in June 2018. The new season will take place in Europe and is currently filming there. The series has already been renewed for a fourth season. 

Brian Michael Bendis is working on an adult animated Legion of Super-Heroes series for HBO Max. In his newsletter, Bendis wrote “its very early goings but I can tell you this will be an adaptation of the Legion of superheroes that Ryan Sook and I have been working on the last few years. And just like that series, on sale now, it will harken back to so many classics while at the same time doing what Legion does: pushing all the ideas of superheroes forward in every direction.”

Fox has canceled its New Year’s Eve plans due to the surge in Covid cases in New York City. Fox’s New Year’s Eve Toast & Roast 2022 was to be hosted by Ken Jeong and Joel McHale with appearances by Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, Billy Idol, Pink and Trace Adkins. A replacement program will be announced in the coming days. 

Nielsen, the company behind TV ratings reports, has announced there was an error with the way they measured some data leading back to September 2020. They say they have fixed the issue and will now reissue the correct data for the months of programming it measured. The news comes after increased scrutiny of the industry’s reliance on the company which many feel in past years have underrepresented the true ratings and numbers. 

Nia Long is set to be a part of ABC’s upcoming docuseries Let The World See. The series will air as a companion series to the upcoming limited series Women of the Movement. Both will highlight Mamie Till-Mobley’s search for justice following the murder of her son Emmett Till. Long joins previously announced Michelle Obama and Common.

The 30th Trumpet Awards are set to air on Bounce Martin Luther King Day, January 17. The event will be a night of inspiration, history and crowd-rousing performances celebrating African American achievements and contributions. Honorees include Courtney B. Vance, Stan Lathan, Tyrese Gibson, Zaila Avant-garde, Princess Sarah Culberson, Senators Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. Special guests include Wendell Pierce, Sanaa Lathan, JB Smoove and Tamron Hall. Musical performers and more presenters will be announced soon. 

ABC News announced plans for special programming leading up to the one year anniversary of the attack on the Capitol. Beginning January 2, Attack on the Capitol – One Year Later programming will air across ABC News. Rep. Liz Cheny will be interviewed on This Week with George Stephanopoulos January 2. Hulu will air the documentary Homegrown: Standoff to Rebellion January 5. David Muir sat down with three officers who testified in front of the Jan 6 committee and will air on Nightline and World News Tonight January 5. Good Morning America, GMA3: What You Need to Know and Nightline will dedicate coverage to the anniversary on January 6. Additional coverage will take place on ABC News Live, ABC News Digital, ABC NewsOne, ABC News Radio, FiveThirtyEight and more.

A Closer Look with Anthony Hamilton is a music documentary series which is set to premiere December 23 on ALLBLK. The series profiles R&B, Soul, and Hip-Hop artists whose song(s) have and continues to top the billboard charts and re-shape the music industry. The series will highlight the artist’s career from the beginning to present day. Each episode will consist of a one on one sit-down interview between the artist and producer of the show, and will also highlight music videos/live performances, studio sessions, archival interviews, B-roll footage, and guest interviews.
