Hulu has canceled UnPrisoned after two seasons. The Alexander family is still a mess. Paige’s therapy practice is in trouble, Finn’s anxiety is through the roof, Edwin is still figuring out how to get his life together outside of prison, and their relationships are more complicated than ever. The family needs help, and it’s time to call in a professional – OTHER than Paige. The Alexanders turn to a “family radical healing coach,” who throws out all the rules to free them of the issues, old wounds and family secrets holding them back. 

Chucky has been canceled after three seasons. The Syfy and USA Network series In Chucky’s unending thirst for power, season 3 saw Chucky ensconced with the most powerful family in the world – America’s First Family, inside the infamous walls of the White House. How did Chucky wind up here? What in God’s name does he want? And how can Jake, Devon and Lexy possibly get to Chucky inside the world’s most secure house, all while balancing the pressures of romantic relationships and growing up? Meanwhile, Tiffany faces looming execution on death row for “Jennifer Tilly’s” murderous rampage. 

Hulu has canceled Black Cake after one season. Based on the book by Charmaine Wilkerson, the series was a family drama wrapped in a murder mystery with a diverse cast of characters and a global setting. The story took place in Jamaica, Italy, Scotland, England and Southern California. In the late 1960s, a runaway bride named Covey disappears into the surf off the coast of Jamaica and is feared drowned or a fugitive on the run for her husband’s murder. In present day California, a widow named Eleanor Bennett, loses her battle with cancer, leaving her two estranged children, Byron and Benny, a flash drive that holds previously untold stories of her journey from the Caribbean to America. These stories, narrated by Eleanor, shock her children and challenge everything they thought they knew about their family’s origin. 

Saturday Night Live returns for season 50 September 28. Jean Smart will serve as host while Jelly Roll will be performing as musical guest. 

Blue Box premieres on Netflix October 3. A coming-of-age love story revolving around school sports clubs, this series delicately portrays relatable characters who devote themselves wholeheartedly to their club activities, as well as the subtle emotions that arise when they fall for someone.

Season three of Wicked City premieres on ALLBLK October 17. The series continues to delve into the complexities of the coven as they face new challenges and threats, both internal and external. The season introduces new characters, deepens relationships, and explores themes of power, control, and resistance. This season blends supernatural drama with character development, highlighting the coven’s struggle for balance and justice in a world rife with corruption and dark forces.

Yellowstone returns November 10 on Paramount Network. The series chronicles the Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park. 

All episodes of the Natsume’s Book of Friends season six and the two special episodes English Dub will premiere on Crunchyroll September 30. Natsume Takashi has the ability to see spirits, which he has long kept secret. However, once he inherits a strange book that belonged to his deceased grandmother, Reiko, he discovers the reason why spirits surround him. The new season comes ahead of the series’ seventh season premiere October 7. An English dub for that season will come as well.

Whitney Cummings is set to host the upcoming Friends game show Fast Friends. The Max series will take place in the celebrated series’ iconic sets in a fast-paced competition event. From racing through Rachel and Monica’s apartment to darting across Joey and Chandler’s bachelor pad and grabbing a coffee at Central Perk, fans will re-live their favorite moments while being put to the test with trivia, puzzles, and games that will keep even the most die-hard Friends fans on their toes. The quickest team will win the title of Ultimate Friends Fan. 

Stephen Moyer will star in Acorn TV’s Art Detectives. The crime series is centered around the Heritage Crime Unit, a police department consisting of art loving DI Mick Palmer and straight-talking DC Shazia Malik. Together, they solve murders connected to the world of art and antiques, from Old Master paintings, to Banksy street art, medieval manuscripts and collectible vinyl. Throughout the season, the artfully astute detectives encounter a fake Vermeer, Viking gold, a rare Chinese vase and items rescued from the Titanic. It’s a rich and colorful world driven by greed, obsession, lust and revenge. Mick navigates these demanding cases while managing a budding romance with museum curator Rosa and the sudden reappearance of his charismatic father, Ron, who just happens to be one of Britain’s most notorious forgers. It will premiere in 2025. 

Season two of The Empress premieres on Netflix November 22. The first crisis is barely over and the young couple wants to enjoy their fresh marital bliss when dark clouds gather over Schönbrunn Palace: Franz unexpectedly faces a powerful adversary in Europe. And Elisabeth comes under great pressure, because an heir to the throne is to secure the future of the empire as quickly as possible. When fate strikes with all its power, the couple’s love threatens to finally break apart. And Elisabeth must fight not only for her family, but also for the integrity of her soul.

Like Water for Chocolate premieres on HBO Latino and Max November 3. The series explores the idea that sometimes traditions can become a prison, an obstacle for love. Tita de la Garza and Pedro Múzquiz are two souls deeply in love, yet unable to be together due to entrenched family customs. The protagonists navigate a world of magical realism and rich flavors as Tita struggles between the destiny imposed on her by her family and her fight for love. Along the way, the audience will witness her greatest refuge: the kitchen. For Tita, her magical connection to cooking becomes an active resistance against oppression, allowing her to channel her deepest desires and passions into her recipes, transforming those who taste them. Set during the Mexican Revolution, the series also addresses the struggle of women to control their own destinies. The breathtaking locations in Tlaxcala and Mexico City provide an authentic and powerful backdrop for this adaptation of a beloved Mexican literary classic. 

Children of the Church Steps (Os Quatro da Candelária) premieres on Netflix October 30. Four children full of dreams face the dangers of the streets of Rio de Janeiro, without knowing that they would become part of one of the most tragic episodes in the history of Brazil. 

Lost Monster Files premieres October 9 on Discovery Channel. The series features a team of experts who gained exclusive access to Sanderson’s detailed research and will use it to reinvestigate his most prominent unfinished cases. The team will focus on present day sightings such as the Abominable Snowman and Chupacabra to determine if modern science and technology can bring them closer to answers for these mysterious creatures. Biologist Ivan Sanderson, a founder of Cryptozoology – the study of unknown and legendary species – amassed the most extensive collection of unexplained creature research on earth. Following his death in 1973, the archive was kept hidden. Now, the team will apply long-hidden insights and clues from Sanderson’s physical specimens, journals and audio recordings to new field investigations, using tools and evidence not available in Sanderson’s day. 

black-ish will begin airing on TV One September 27 in time for the show’s 10th anniversary. It will begin with a 10th Anniversary Marathon honoring a decade of cultural commentary, humor, and heart. Spanning eight seasons with a total of 176 episodes, the series quickly became a cultural touchstone in American television. black·ish centers on the Johnson family, an affluent Black household led by patriarch Andre “Dre” Johnson, a successful advertising executive, and his wife Rainbow, an accomplished anesthesiologist.
