'World Turns' Star Maura West Expecting!

"As The World Turns" star Maura West (Carly) is expect her fifth child!

Congratulations are in order for one of Oakdale’s leading ladies. Emmy winner Maura West (Carly Snyder) has announced that she and husband Scott Defreitas (ex-Andy Dixon, ATWT) are expecting their fourth child (West has a son Benjamin from a prior relationship). At press time, there is no word on whether West’s pregnancy will be written into storylines.

West and Defreitas met on the set of "As the World Turns." The fan favorites became involved and were married in January of 2000. Not long after their wedding, son Joseph Peter was born in March of the same year. The family welcomed a daughter, Katherine Marie in January of 2002. It was during this pregnancy that West, Martha Byrne (ex-Lily Snyder) and Kelley Menighan Hensley (Emily Stewart) became pregnant at the same time, wreaking havoc on the writers. In January of 2007, West gave birth to son Basil John Defreitas.
