“Days Of Our Lives” has axed yet another veteran.
It has been one after the other leaving at Days of Our Lives over the past couple of months. So it comes as no surprise to some that another veteran actress has been axed from the show. Leann Hunley announced on her official website that today was her last day at the show.
“Hello Darlings! I worked my last day on DAYS today … Anyway, THANK YOU for all your sweet wishes and support over the last year and a half. I had a wonderful time bringing Anna back to life and will miss ‘her’ more than just a little.”
Leann debuted on Days of Our Lives as Anna Fredricks-Dimera in 1982, leaving the show in 1986. Her 4 year run on the NBC soap garnered her a Daytime Emmy nomination and a win for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1986. Leann returned to the show in the summer of 2007 to reprise her role as Anna Dimera after a 20 year break from Days. During her hiatus from soaps, Leann kept busy by working in Prime Time. In 1986, she landed the role of Dana on Dynasty. As a result of her 2 year role on the show, she received a nomination from Soap Opera Digest for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a prime time drama. After leaving Dynasty in 1988, she went on to portray numerous characters in primetime on hit series such as, Murder She Wrote, Who’s the Boss, Designing Women, Models, Inc., Dawson’s Creek, 7th Heaven and others.
According to reports from Soap Opera Digest Leann’s exit will coincide with her co-star Thaao Phenglis.
