Daniel Cosgrove won’t be joining the cast of “One Life to Live” as Joey Buchanan.
The buzz around the net for the last couple of months had One Life to Live courting Guiding Light’s Daniel Cosgrove for a recast of Joey Buchanan, son of Clint Buchanan and Viki Davidson. Rumor had it Cosgrove would take over the role as soon as Guiding Light would turn out their light at the end of the summer. But this afternoon, Soap Opera Digest says otherwise, stating that Cosgrove will not be joining the ABC soap, according a setside source.
Ryan Morris originated the role of Joey Buchanan in 1982. He was replaced by John Paul Learn in 1983. In 1990, the role was recast again with Chris McKenna, and three years later Nathan Fillion took over the role. In 1997, Fillion was replaced with Don Jeffcoat, after only three years in the role. In 2001, Jeffcoat left the role and Joey didn’t return to Llanview again until 2003. The last time Joey was in Llanview he was portrayed by Bruce Michael Hall.
One Life to Live fans will not be seeing Joey return to Llanview …. at least for now.
