ATWT Hires Former GL Writer

Former GL writer joins ATWT to head writing team.

Announced today by Christopher Goutman, As The World Turns Executive Producer, former Guiding Light writer, David Kreizman, will be joining their writing team and share head writer duties with ATWT head writer Jean Passanante.

Kreizman’s career began on Guiding Light as a production intern in 1995 and joined their writing staff in 1997. In 2004, Kreizman was named headwriter and won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2007. His other positions at GL included Production Coordinator and an Associate Producer. In 2001, Kreizman was also a writer for MTV’s series Spyder Games.

Jean Passanante joined the writing staff of ATWT in 2001 as Co-Head Writer. She was named Head Writer of the soap in 2005. During her time on the soap, they have been the recipient of four Daytime Emmy Awards, two Writers Guild Awards and two GLAAD Media Awards. She previously was the Head Writer for ABC’s All My Children and received Writers Guild and GLAAD Media Awards, as well as an Emmy nomination. She was also a member of other writing teams including, Another World (1998-99) and One Life to Live (1992-98), for which she won an Emmy Award in 1994. Passanante also served as Director of Writer Development for ABC Daytime Television.

“I am thrilled that Dave and Jean will make up the new head writing team for As The World Turns,” said Goutman. “Both writers have an incredible respect for the show’s rich history and I am confident this partnership will generate the exciting, character-based stories for which As The World Turns is known.”
