GH Stars Debunk Rumors of Kelly Monaco's Exit *UPDATE*

No Exit for Kelly Monaco

‘GH’ stars debunk rumors of Kelly Monaco’s exit.

The reaction amongst GH fans regarding Soap Opera Digest’s breaking news of a possible Sam McCall recast was mixed, as evidenced by the animate discussions on various message boards and social networking sites. In response to our report, one fan commented “If KeMo is leaving the show I wish they would just kill off the Sam character…. Because Kelly’s last day on the show is the last day I will be watching GH!”. But, some fans weren’t so unhappy. “I am so happy that she is leaving. I can go back to watching GH again.” said one commenter.

After hours of discussion regarding Kelly’s pending departure, it wasn’t another magazine or credible online news site to debunk SOD’s report. It was Kelly’s co-stars! Over on her official twitter page, Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) was the first to knock down the rumor. In response to a fellow tweeter asking if she had any information regarding Kelly’s departure, Nancy responded with: "NOT LEAVING…RELAX”.
A few minutes later, she posted another tweet: “4 the love of God, she is not going anywhere. Don’t believe everything u read…. suckers..and I say that with so much love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Fellow co-star Steve Burton, who recently re-signed, also added comment
on his official twitter page last night: "Kelly Monaco is not leaving."

An hour later, Kelly posted a cryptic status update on her official Facebook page, “If u fail… Pick yourself up n try again.”

While this has surely made many fans of Ms. Monaco, some are choosing to wait for further word from ABC and/or Kelly herself before jumping for joy. In the meantime, TVSource Magazine will continue to provide updates on this as more information is made available.

ABC Soaps In Depth confirmed Kelly Monaco has re-signed with General Hospital. “I re-signed my contract,” the actress told Soaps In Depth this afternoon. “For another year.”
