AMC News: Fan Faves Return 40th Anniversary

Fan favorites return for the 40th Anniversary of “All My Children.”

Hot on the heels of the news of power couple Kelly Ripa (ex-Haley) and Mark Consuelos’ (ex-Mateo) return to All My Children, comes the news of even more AMC cast returns. TV Guide Magazine’s Michael Logan is reporting that Julia Barr (Brooke), CSI: Miami‘s Eva La Rue (Maria), Taylor Miller (Nina), Laurence Lau (Greg), and Grey’s Anatomy‘s Leven Rambin (Lily) will make their return to the soap. Not so fast, AMC fans. These returns have an expiration date. It’s all part of ABC Daytime’s plans to celebrate the upcoming 40th anniversary of All My Children airing January 5th.

The show will film its 40th anniversary episode in New York before going dark during the Christmas break and moving production to Los Angeles in January. At press time there are no further details about the anniversary story or how these characters will return to the show were available. According to Logan, however, it all has to do with Ripa’s Haley Santos, who will return to Pine Valley on business involving her television talk show.

Though talks have fallen through for the return of Emmy winner Eden Riegel to AMC on a permanent basis despite the show’s west coast move, Logan reveals that Riegel will return for the January 5th episode. No word on whether Riegel’s Bianca will be popping up onscreen with Emmy winner Tamara Braun’s Reese. AMC fans will also remember that Rebecca Budig will be making her return to the soap as Greenlee Smythe this December. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Source’s AMC News and Previews for more information about All My Children‘s upcoming 40th Anniversary celebration as the date approaches.
