Well, that sure did not take long. It has been announced that exiting Days of our Lives star Shelley Hennig (Stephanie) has landed a major role in Secret Circle, a pilot for The CW network.
Hennig was crowned as Miss Teen USA in 2004. She joined Days as Stephanie Johnson in April of 2007. She earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for Best Younger Actress in 2010. She announced this January that she would be exiting the show.
Secret Circle shares a lot with current CW hit, The Vampire Diaries. Both have supernatural elements, are based off a popular book series by L.J. Smith, and are produced by Kevin Williamson (Scream, Dawson’s Creek). Also behind Secret Circle is Mr. Eden Riegel (Heather, The Young and the Restless; ex-Bianca, All My Children) himself, Andrew Miller (Imaginary Bitches).
Hennig will portray Diana, head witch in charge of a seven member coven. Diana is also in a long term relationship with Adam, played by Thomas Dekker (Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles; A Nightmare on Elm St) and will befriend Cassie, the new girl to town who holds the secret to everything, played by Britt Robinson (Scream 4; Life Unexpected). That sounds like a love triangle waiting to happen…
Fun Fact: The name of the town in Secret Circle is New Salem. We bet Shelley will feel just home!
