New Showrunner at Law & Order:SVU

TVLine is reporting Law & Order SVU has a high probability of going on for a 13th season. Changes coming for SVU as exec producer Warren Leight of Lights Out sources say is replacing Neal Baer as the drama’s show runner for next season.

NBC has yet to formally renew the Law & Order series hit, but with this news, it seems the network will be optimistically looking forward to a new season of SVU. Contract talks continue with the SVU leads, Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay. TVLine expresses their sources say a deal could be reached by the end of this week.

Executive Producer, Leight is a familiar face to the L&O family as he was executive producer of L&O Criminal Intent for 5 years, prior to executive producing FX’s Lights Out. He was also exec. producer of HBO’s In Treatment for one season.

Neal Baer who has been executive producer on SVU for the last 10 years, inked a new 3 year contract with CBS in November 2010.
