'Gossip Girl' Casts 'Stargate Universe' Star Brian J. Smith

TVLine reports that Stargate Universe hunk Brian J. Smith has been cast on Gossip Girl for a six-episode arc.

The actor will play a chef named Max and will make his first appearance during the Season 5 premiere on Monday, September 26.

Smith’s scenes will take place in Los Angeles, conveniently in the same city as the show’s favorite blond Serena van der Woodsen. Rumor has it Max will be a potential love interest for Blake Lively’s Serena. Considering how many men she had in her harem during Season 4, we’re sure Max will be the first of many for Serena.

For two seasons Smith starred in the SyFy series Stargate Universe and recently starred in the SyFy original movie Red Faction: Origins.
