Glee series co-creator Ryan Murphy dropped a “bombshell” during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter earlier today. Murphy revealed stars Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer will not be back for season four.

“You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not being realistic, or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year.” Murphy would go on to reveal that more characters would leave than those that are staying, and that life after high school will be a theme during season 3.
