TNA’s IMPACT Wrestling is moving to a new time slot beginning on Thursday, May 31. Spike TV’s highly rated wrestling program will be airing an hour earlier, starting at 8PM/EST.
The reason for the move, according to the company, is based on the fact that there are more available viewers at the earlier time slot than after 8PMand less sports competition in the later evening hours. The flagship wrestling program is one of Spike TV’s top rated programs and regularly tops the 18-34 male demographics on Thursdays.
TNA Entertainment recently signed a multi-year extension with Spike TV. TNA wrestling debuted on Spike TV in July, 2005. Over the last seven years, the ratings for TNA’s “IMPACT Wrestling” have grown from an average of 700,000 viewers at launch to nearly two million today.
“Dixie Carter and her team at TNA have done a phenomenal job in developing stars for an exciting, high-action brand that resonates with Spike’s audience,” said Spike TV President Kevin Kay. “We are excited to further our partnership and will continue to build and invigorate the franchise together.”
The TNA roster garners top names in the wrestling business including World Champion Bobby Roode, AJ Styles, James Storm, Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Sting, Robin Van Damn and the legendary Hulk Hogan. Their talented roster also includes a women’s division called TNA’s Knockouts, led by some of the industry’s most beautiful and deadly women like Knockout Champion Gail Kim, Madison Rayne, ODB, Mickie James and Tara.
You can catch TNA’s IMPACT Wrestling on Thursday nights on SPIKE TV.
