Could reports of Susan Flannery’s exit from The Bold and the Beautiful been a little premature? According to head writer/executive producer Brad Bell, Flannery is sticking around.
Yesterday, Soaps In Depth was the first to break news of Flannery’s departure from B&B. According to reports, the actress signed a short-term deal to allow for a proper exit. Less than 24-hours later, Soap Opera Digest shared more information on the actress’ status. According SOD, Flannery asked to be written out of the show, but the series managed to work out a new deal.

Bell provided an exclusive statement to SOD regarding the actress’ future: “Susan, for quite some time, was thinking she needed a break or just have some personal time. She’s been through a lot personally; we know that she had her own battle with cancer and she’s had such an amazing career that she will continue to have as Stephanie Forrester, but I think it’s not so much as a disagreement between her and the show, but more Susan figuring out where she is right now and what she needs. Now, Susan is going to have an incredible time with a new storyline that we’ve never seen before; something completely unique and interesting.”
My POV: Great news for B&B. There would have been a huge hole in the canvas had the show written out Stephanie Forrester. I’m looking forward to her upcoming storyline.
