‘Arrow’ recruits Summer Glau as a rival for Oliver

0

As the cast and crew head back to Starling City (aka Vancouver) to film the second season of The CW’s hit drama Arrow, a new character has been added to the mix. Summer Glau has signed on for a recurring role as a potential thorn in Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) side.

Glau is no stranger to the genre show. She has appeared in several of Joss Whedon’s projects including Angel, Firefly, Serenity and Dollhouse. Glau has also had roles in The 4400, The Cape and The Big Bang Theory, just to name a few of her impressive list of credits.

The actress will first show up in the season two premiere as Isabel Rochev, the enigmatically beautiful and dangerous VP of Acquisitions at Stellmoor International, a company looking to take over Queen Consolidated. Her name has appeared in Robert Queen’s book of people who have failed the city so we’re guessing Oliver won’t be a big fan of hers.

In the DC Comics’ world, Isabel is a villain who goes from being a slave to running Queen Industries as CEO. She believes she is the love of Robert’s life and the true heir to the family business, which puts Oliver on her hit list.

Arrow premieres its second season on Wednesday, Oct. 9 on The CW.
