Soap stars Cameron Mathison (All My Children), Jack Wagner (General Hospital) and Clueless star Rachel Blanchard will anchor the main cast for Hallmark’s upcoming back-door pilot My Gal Sunday.

The two-hour backdoor pilot, based off the book of shorts by Mary Higgins Clark, could serve as the launch for a new primetime series, reports The Hollywood Reporter. The series follows Sandra “Sunday” O’Brien-Parker (Blanchard), an attorney and PI, who is at the center of scandal alongside her politically connected husband/partner, Henry Parker (Mathison). Production begins this week in Vancouver.

Blanchard’s primarily known for her role as Cher Horowitz in the television series Clueless. She also starred on The WB’s 7th Heaven for two seasons. Additional credits include guest starring roles on Joey, Flight of the Conchords, Flashpoint and Psych.

For 13 years, Cameron Mathison starred as the hunky, reformed con-man Ryan Lavery on ABC’s All My Children. Since the series ended on ABC, Mathison’s kept busy, guest starring on primetime shows Desperate Housewives, Drop Dead Diva and Hot in Cleveland. Mathison recently served as Kris Jenner’s first cohost for her new daytime talk show Kris, which debuted July 15.

Wagner’s coming off a recent stint on ABC’s General Hospital, where he reprised his role of Frisco Jones after a near 20-year absence. The actor’s credits span daytime and primetime, with contract roles on Santa Barbara, Melrose Place, Titans and The Bold and the Beautiful.

Production begins this week in Vancouver.
