‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Premiere Sneak Peek: How is Elena preparing for college?

With only one night left to spend in Mystic Falls before leaving for college, Elena chooses to spend the evening with – who else? – Damon.

We’re just shy of a week away from the season 5 premiere of The Vampire Diaries. Fans can rejoice – unless you’re Stelena fans, that is! – because The CW has given us a glimpse of what we can expect in the season premiere. We already know Elena is headed to Whitmore College with her best friend, Caroline, in hopes of having a normal human experience despite being of the undead.

The newly released preview clip shows a nervous and excited Elena talking to Damon about leaving… while in a bubble bath! While Elena is looking forward to leaving and having an experience she’s always wanted, Damon is already starting to brood over losing his lady love.

Check out the clip below, but don’t fret over Damon’s discontent. Over the summer, Julie Plec promised that viewers would get to see Damon and Elena happy for a lengthy period of time.

Judging from this clip, Damon and Elena are happier and stronger than ever. After all, distance is supposed to make the heart grow fonder.
