Things at Ultra are about to get very difficult for The Tomorrow People’s Stephen (Robbie Amell). The CW has cast Spy Kids alum Alexa Vega in a new high-profile role that puts her opposite Stephen.

Zap2It reports the actress will play the role of Hilary Cole, a new recruit fast tracked for success at Ultra. Described as a “ruthless, paranormal version of Tracy Flick” from the 1999 film Election (starring Reese Witherspoon), Hilary won’t let anything or anyone stand in the way of achieving her goal. Vega will first appear in the 11th episode.

It might be a stretch to say this rivalry could lead to the death of Stephen. With only one slot available for the next level, Ultra made their trial simple — winner moves on; loser gets stripped of their powers. Technically, the superpowered part of Stephen would essentially die.

Since appearing in four Sky Kids films, Alexa Vega’s continued to work regularly, appearing in films and guest starring on primetime shows. Recent TV credits include Ghost Whisperer, The Middle, Royal Pains, and Big Time Rush.
