ABC Family hopes the critically acclaimed creator of Switched at Birth, Lizzy Weiss (Blue Crush) can create the network another hit. The Hollywood Reporter reports Weiss is developing a new drama, Into Thin Air, for consideration for the fall 2014 season.

While specific details haven’t been released, Into the Air is described as a high-concept family drama with thriller elements. Weiss will reteam with Switched at Birth executive producer Paul Stupin (Dawson’s Creek, Make it or Break It) as show runners for the new project.

Into Thin Air is the newest drama in ABC Family’s development slate for the new season. The youth-skewing network is developing an adaptation of The Hand That Rocks the Cradle and the Jamie Lee Curtis led The Final Girls, a high-profile horror series from writer Jeff Dixon.
