Deadline, which broke the news Monday, reports the actor will play Adam – a fugitive robot accused of first-degree murder. It turns out that Adam may be a key factor in the future of the human race. The series has yet to cast the female attorney (also a main character) who is charged with defending him. Adam becomes the lead suspect when his creator is found stabbed to death.

Heusinger’s most recent credits include a well-received arc on NBC’s Revolution earlier this season. Prior to that, recurred on teen soap Gossip Girl and USA Network’s Royal Pains. Additional credits include Necessary Roughness, Unforgettable, Castle and Bones.

The Ehren Kruger penned drama was given a pilot order last month. Kruger will executive producer the series with Daniel Bobker and John Glenn. D.J. Caruso will help the project.
