ABC Renews ‘Once’, ‘Scandal’, ‘Revenge’, ‘Nashville’ and More; Cancels ‘Trophy Wife’ and ‘Mixology’

ABC has continued its yearly trend of picking the oddest times to start their renewal process. Tonight, the network has announced that it is renewing Once Upon a Time, Resurrection, Scandal, Revenge, Castle and Grey’s Anatomy for the 2014-15 season.

In addition to those renewals, ABC has given series orders to How to Get Away with Murder, Black-ish, American Crime, Forever, Galavant, Manhattan Love Story, Selfie and The Whispers.

10:36 p.m. EST Update: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been renewed for a second season and the network has ordered the Captain America spinoff, Marvel’s Agent Carter starring Hayley Atwell to series.

10:43 p.m. EST Update: The Goldbergs has been renewed for a second season.

10:59 p.m. EST Update: Modern Family has been renewed for a sixth season and ABC stated that would be the last announcement of the night. The fate of the remaining shows will be decided tomorrow.

12:44 a.m. EST Update: Just kidding! ABC wasn’t done yet. The Middle has been renewed as well.

6:59 a.m. EST Update: While we were sleeping last night, the casts and producers of freshman comedies Trophy Wife and Mixology tweeted that the shows would not be moving forward.

10:46 a.m. EST UpdateThe Neighbors has been canceled.

12:35 p.m. EST Update: Dancing with the Stars has been renewed.

2:30 p.m. EST Update: The Bachelor, Shark Tank and America’s Funniest Home Videos have been officially renewed.

2:42 p.m. EST Update: Suburgatory and Super Fun Night have been canceled.

4:07 p.m. EST Update: ABC has added the drama pilot Secrets and Lies to its slate for next season.

5:07 p.m. EST Update: There’s still no official word on the fates of Nashville or Last Man Standing. ABC is currently negotiating with production companies for both shows, according to Deadline. We will let you know as soon as we hear the official news.

8:15 a.m. EST Update – 5/10/14: While we were sleeping last night, ABC announced a full season renewal for musical drama Nashville, giving the series a 22-episode order. More details about its renewal are available here: https://tvsourcemagazine.com/2014/05/nashville-renewed-third-season-abc/
