TVSource Magazine staff was lucky enough to attend the Blast From The Past Event for the 2014 General Hospital Fan Club Weekend. The event was a great opportunity for fans to mingle with their favorite past cast members from General Hospital, General Hospital: Night Shift, and Port Charles.
The Blast From The Past Event featured stars from General Hospital’s spy days such as John Reilly (Sean Donely) as well as those from it’s more recent mobster stories such as Brandon Barash (Johnny Zaccahira). Icons such as Anne Jeffreys (Amanda Barrington) and Susan Brown (Gail Baldwin) also greeted fans.
For multi-soap fans, there was opportunity to meet General Hospital alum who have also made their mark on other shows such as Emmy winner Scott Clifton (Dylan Quartermaine, Liam Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful) and Tonya Walker (Olivia St. John, Alex Olanov on One Life to Live). Fans of Port Charles got to rub elbows with Brian Gaskill (Rafe Kovich), Kiko Ellsworth (Jamal Woods), Rib Hillis (Jake Marshak) and Rebecca Staab (Elizabeth Barrington). Adam Grimes (Kyle Julian) from General Hospital: Night Shift was also in attendance. There was a little something for every fan.
Ronnie Marmo (Ronnie Dimestico) was excellent as this year’s MC. Michael Sutton who played Stone Cates in one of General Hospital’s most loved and critically acclaim story lines drew one of the longest lines.
I had fun sampling Lilly Melgar‘s skincare line Scentual By Lilly. Meanwhile, Brandon Barash had the daddy thing down as he held his daughter with one hand and signed his photography with the other.
The Blast from the Past Event was definitely worth attending especially for longtime fans of the General Hospital and its spin offs.
