Here’s Johnny! Brandon Barash Returning to ‘GH’

Brandon Barash

The uber sexy Brandon Barash, husband of soap star Kirsten Storms (Maxie, GH), is set to return to ABC’s General Hospital to reprise his role as mob prince Johnny Zacchara!

First reported by Daytime Confidential, a rep for the soap confirmed the actor is returning, but kept mum on details. Barash chose to depart GH last year after six years on the soap. The character was sentenced to 20 years in prison causing the deaths of One Life to Live characters Hope Manning and Cole Thornheart characters who no longer exist in the General Hospital universe, as well as his father-turned-grandfather Anthony Zacchara.

With long-time rival Sonny (Maurice Benard) facing murder charges, might Johnny cross paths with the man who tried to kill him on numerous occasion? Hopefully!

Barash tied the knot with Kirsten Storms in June 2013. The couple’s first child was born in January.

My Take: This casting news makes me so happy. Brandon Barash has always been a favorite of mine and I was so saddened when he left the show last year. Even a short stint is better than nothing. The smart ass in me would love it if GH ignored Johnny’s conviction. I mean, he murdered characters who don’t exist anymore. Let’s just pretend 2012-2013 didn’t happen and Johnny’s been living in New York running the Soleito business.
