A Martinez and Judith McConnell join the cast of ‘The Bay’

LANY Entertainment’s Emmy nominated series The Bay has added two powerhouse stars to upcoming episodes! A Martinez (ex-Cruz Castillo) and Judith McConnell (ex-Sophia Capwell) from the iconic soap opera Santa Barbara, which aired on NBC from 1984 to 1993, will be getting into the #Bayhem! The actors will reunite with fellow Santa Barbara alum Lane Davies and Nicolas Coster. Martinez and McConnell will appear in Chapter 14, scheduled to air in mid December of 2014. Maintaining his reputation for keeping potential storylines close to his vest, The Bay’s writer and director Gregori J. Martin won’t budge on what to expect with Martinez and McConnell or what roles they will be playing in Bay City, but instead elaborates on how being a longtime fan of Santa Barbara has influenced his characters on The Bay.

“We’re extremely excited to have both A and Judith on set of The Bay,” states Martin. “Growing up I was hooked on Santa Barbara and have always admired their work. SB has always been my favorite daytime drama. The character of Bay City matriarch Sara Garrett is loosely based on Robin Wright’s character Kelly Capwell. I named Sara after my babysitter who introduced me to the show and my motivation on how I developed Sara came from watching Kelly.”

Other members of the cast of daytime and primetime stars include Mary Beth Evans (Days of Our Lives), Ronn Moss (The Bold and the Beautiful), Tristan Rogers (The Young and the Restless), Kristos Andrews (X GAMES Champion), Jacklyn Zeman (General Hospital), Patrika Darbo (Days of Our Lives), Gavin Houston (The Haves and Have Nots), Matthew Ashford (Days of Our Lives), Lilly Melgar (General Hospital), Karrueche Tran (106 & Park), Eric Nelsen (All My Children), and Jade Harlow (Days of Our Lives).
