Get ready to see more Avants on The Bold and the Beautiful! Daytime newcomer Reign Edwards has been cast in the contract role of Nicole Avant, Maya’s (Karla Mosley) younger sister.
Soap Opera Digest broke the news of Edwards’ casting exclusively on their website earlier today. The 18 year-old began taping today and spoke to SOD about joining the very soap her mother is a fan of. She says she felt good about the audition, even though she was the youngest one there, and admits she didn’t expect to land the role.
As for what viewers can expect from Nicole, she previewed, “I think Nicole is going to bring something pretty cool to the table for everybody. She’s Maya’s little sister, so they’re going to have some similarities but they’ll also have their differences, too. You’ll really get to see that.”
If she’s anything like her sister, she’ll be more than a handful. Nicole’s arrival will hopefully provide a much needed boost to the show’s younger core, which currently only features Ally Forrester (Ashlyn Pearce). Kudos to B&B for continuing to not only feature diversity, but actually write for the characters as well.
Reign Edwards will first air in January.
