Brandon Beemer, who played Shawn Brady on Days of our Lives from 2006-2008, has returned to the long-running NBC series.
Though Jason Cook, who played Bo and Hope’s eldest child from 1999-2006, returned to the show for the 50th anniversary, it is Beemer who will continue playing the character once Cook’s stint ends. Soap Opera Digest confirmed Beemer’s return with a rep for Days of our Lives.
After leaving DAYS in 2008, Brandon Beemer landed the role of Owen Knight on CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful. After experiencing front burner success, the character was phased out and eventually written off in 2012.
Look for Beemer to air in early 2016 according to SOD. It’s no surprise Shawn will be sticking around, given the imminent returns of wife Belle (Martha Madison) and now teenage daughter Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan)
Also joining the cast is General Hospital alum Real Andrews. Andrews played the role of Det. Marcus Taggert from 1996-1998; 1998-2003. Andrews’ additional credits include As the World Turns, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, All My Children and The Bay.
Andrews shared the news via Instagram, writing: “I am back. Thanks for all your support.”

Brandon returning does not surprise me; with John-Paul in the role of Phillip, Brandon’s Shawn-Douglas is going to be a better visual match for the pairing with Belle, though, I’d love for Jason to stick around.
