Dante and Lulu start planning for their baby.

There may not be a malaria outbreak in Port Charles but baby rabies is making the rounds again. Jason and Sam are expecting their second child, Dante and Lulu are planning to implant a sibling for Rocco and Nina wants Curtis to find her baby.

Sam’s pregnancy is moving story line for Jason and her in a good direction. I’m pretty happy with it so far (fingers crossed!). I liked that Sam telling Jason that she was pregnant was used to addressed some things from their past such as Sam’s struggles to have children, Jason’s behavior when she was expecting Danny and the impact of his dangerous lifestyle choices on his family. I still think it’s ridiculous that they are currently divorce but hopefully that will soon be fixed. I feel like with the upcoming wedding, already having Danny and the baby on the way, Jason and Sam should be domesticated a little in order for their journey to make sense. They can still have their edge but let them have a family life too.

Dante and Lulu are another couple that is currently divorced for no apparent reason. They’re getting a new house, planning a new baby and acting just like they’re married. Something is obviously not going to go as planned with baby #2. The Cassadines have been after Lulu’s embryos for awhile now. Helena was walking around kissing a thermos of frozen egg a few years back. Olivia’s premonition that she has a granddaughter somewhere out there seems to be hinting that the egg in that thermos may have already hatched. This is one of those stories that has been waiting to be told but not necessarily one that I think fans have been scrambling to see.

Meanwhile, Nina’s desire to be a mother hasn’t gone away. She surprised Curtis by announcing that she wants him to find her a baby. After she filled him in on the whole Jamie Summers/Canada thing, it was pretty clear that he would have to use some rather shady means to actually get her a baby. Wanting to be a mother has always been Nina’s thing but the timing of this subject popping up again along with her recent “connecting” with a Cassadine is screaming “baby switch”.

The Fashionista, The Cop, His Wife and Her Lover

Claudette wants to rekindle things with Griffin.

Claudette wants to rekindle things with Griffin.

I like Nathan, Maxie, Claudette and Griffin. I think the quad is intriguing and love all the actors. But I wanted a little bit more from the reveal that Griffin was the man that Nathan shot. I think maybe it could have been more layered. Maybe Curtis could have found out first, clued in Nina, Nina then could have told Nathan, etc. The way it played out didn’t quite allow for everyone’s reactions to have their own beat. I wasn’t really a fan of Nathan just attacking Griffin and Maxie taking it as a sign that Nathan is still in love with Claudette either. It just came of a bit rushed for my taste. That being said, now that all is out in the open, I’m ready to see how everyone’s lives will be affected.

I do like the chemistry between all the actors. I think having Claudette really be in love with Griffin instead of Nathan and Nathan being in love with Maxie while still harboring feelings for Claudette is a nice twist. Maxie and Griffin have also started to share a bond as well. It’s not obvious where everyone’s going to end up landing once the dust settles.

  1. About the Nathan/Maxie & Claudettr/Griffin storyline when that dust settles I see Naxie still together and hopefully Claudette leaves town. She can take Griffin with her or pair Griffin with Liz.

  2. I want Valerie to have more scenes other people. Valerie should be having more scenes with her family. Valerie should be getting friends too.

  3. Thanks for commenting Latoya! The Sam, Alexis and Diane scenes were great. I agree about Sam hating Julian about what he did to her mother and not making it about Sonny or Jason. Sam is finally getting some nice POV. I feel like BM is still getting acclimated so for me it makes much more sense to have Sam be the focus. The missing kidney story line is not fun! I need Jax to be the white knight, CarJax’s chem to stop being ignored and Joss to be less vanilla. Cast does need a trim.

  4. As always great article Jenn! At my core I’m a Sam stan. I also love Liz. This whole week I was anti the Saliz scenes because I felt like it didn’t ring true to the characters. Now thinking back on it I still hate it BUT I understand why they had to happen. It’s time to move the bleep on! I’d rather Sam and Liz be cordial and be the mature ones, leave the petty fighting to the guys.
Loved the Samlexis and Diane scenes. We need more family and friend oriented scenes. I love that Sam’s hatred of Julian is about what he did to her mother and not about Sonny or Jason.
Not NuJasam fan at all but the scenes this week have been better than they have been since Jason woke up. I felt the chemistry. I’ll buy whatever KeMo try and sell BTW Lol. Still not impressed with BM but I can tolerate him and Jasam if they keep writing it like they did this week.
Still on the fence with Friz. Hate Franco but his scenes with Liz are sweet. I love that he’s team Liz and bring out her artistic side. Becky playing it to perfection I just hate that’s its Franco. I’m working on it.
I really liked the Liason scenes at the hospital. The were sweet and reminded me of their friendship prior to the lie.
Curtis is fire! He need to be working with Sam and romancing Jordan or Anna. I like his scenes with Nina they were funny. Tracy need a boo thing! Her scenes with Paul shows she need something to do besides meddle with Dillon. I need Killon back asap. Loved Kevin and Laura! I like Fin and Hayden.
Claudette and Griffin are cute. Get them away from Naxie. I feel they need to be in the Carson, Jasam, Friz, HayFinn age group tbh. I think Naxie, Lante, Michael, Sabrina, Killon, Nelle, Morgan, and Kristina should be mix matching more. IDK about TJ and Molly 😩
Hate the baby rabies, missing kidney, and Hospital killer SLs 😑😑
    We need to trim cast.
