In part 2 of the series premiere episode of the TVSource podcast, the Year in Soaps discussion turns to ABC’s General Hospital. The hosts discuss the many ups and downs involving the citizens of Port Charles in 2016.
TVSource Magazine’s Ryan White-Nobles, Jenn Bishop, Ashley Dionne and Coryon Gray shared their picks and pans, criticizing the soap for its erratic storytelling inconsistencies and dropped storylines for weeks at a time. Even with those issues at the center of discussion, overall they believed the first year under head writers Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman was an improvement over the previous year.
After recapping the years storylines, discussion turns to the confusing hospital killer storyline, the backburning of Michael Corinthos Quartermaine, newbies wrapped in mysterious mysteries with endings that are likely mysterious, ill-planned characters, characters who’ve been fixed (and those in need of fixing) and more!
The hosts also share their hopes for 2017, including the introduction of a new class of nurses and doctors, resetting the canvas and more.
