Gays of our Lives: Louie, Louie

1

THIS WEEK IN SPOILERS

Days of Our Lives:   Sonny shows up in Prague and is instrumental in helping Paul and the Salem gang capture Stefano.  Stefano later escapes (though because he’s proven alive, Hope is cleared of killing him).  After the adventure is over, Paul and Sonny slip away for some private time together.  Probably a few meaningful stares before the show switches to the straight folks having sex or something.

Emmerdale:   Finn feels guilty for Aaron’s legal problems and apologizes to him.  While, Robert and Aaron bicker about that fact that Aaron could wind up in jail and Chas intervenes to get them back together.  Elsewhere, Eric encourages Finn to give getting back together with Kasim one last shot.

River City:  Things heat up between Gary and Louie as the two grow closer.  Louie asks Gary out on a date without Robbie and Gary agrees to go.  But is that breaking the rules of Robbie and Gary’s open relationship pact?

Rownd a Rownd:  John tries to give Rhys some business advice, but Rhys isn’t interesting in being told what to do.

Shadowhunters:  Magnus and Alec have their first date?  Will it lead to more or be their last?

Shortland Street:  Jack’s efforts to be a hero fall flat.

The Halcyon:   When Toby hears that the part of London that Adil lives in was bombed and there were no survivors, he is terrified that his lover has been killed.  Toby is grateful and relieved when Adil shows up at the hotel safe and sound, leading to an intimate moment between them.   However Lucien, Olivia’s boyfriend, spies them together.  Toby and Adil are terrified their relationship is about to be exposed, leading to scandal and prison for them both.

Adil offers to take the blame for the incident and tell Lucien that Toby was the innocent victim of an unwanted advance.  Toby is uneasy about letting Adil take the fall for both of them.  Later though Lucien offers to keep what he saw a secret, but Adil has to do something for Lucien in return.  Uh-oh!

TEASERS FOR NEXT WEEK

Days of Our Lives:  Paul is found unconscious.

Hollyoaks:   Harry is upset by John Paul and Ste’s closeness.

River City:  Robbie faces the truth.

Rownd a Rownd:  Rhys and David disappoint their loved ones.

The Halcyon:  Adil betrays Toby.

I watch a lot of television, probably too much. But can you really watch too much TV? I've yet to find out. Anyway, I especially love TV when they give us positive portrayals of gays, something that has gotten better but we're still fighting for. I've written about gays in television for many years first at the much missed After Elton, then New Now Next and now at TV Source. It's kind of a passion of mine and I look forward to sharing it with you.

  1. I’m really loving Cam and Jack. I do think it makes sense that Cam seems more serious about Jack, because he’s always been excessively fond of him. It was clear back then that the show was going to go there with them because they purposefully never had Cam say he was straight, and all those lingering looks? It just so happened that he was super into Kylie at the time. I do agree that it’s probably doomed. Every relationship on this show is. The amount of partner swapping going on within the space of 6 months on this show is astounding. I think they’ll be together for a while yet though, they have great chemistry, there’s been decent build-up, neither has any other romantic options, and there’s plenty of scope for good stories given Mo’s feelings on the whole thing.
