HBO Max has ordered an Adventure Time spinoff series titled Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake. The ten episode half-hour young adult animated series will follow the characters Fionna and Cake, gender swapped versions of Finn and Jake, explore the land of Ooo with the help of the former Ice King, Simon Petrikov. HBO Max also has the final miniseries episode of Adventure Time: Distant Lands, titled Wizard City, coming this fall. 

Disney+ has released the trailer for their upcoming animated series Star Wars: Visions. The series is an anthology animated by seven anime studios in Japan. Cast announced for the English dub of the series include Lucy Liu, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bobby Moynihan, Neil Patrick Harris, Alison Brie, Karen Fukuhara, Simu Liu, Masi Oka, Kyle Chandler, David Harbour, Jordan Fisher, Henry Golding, Jamie Chung, George Takei and Lorraine Toussaint. The series premieres September 22.

Carpool Karaoke: The Series has been renewed for season 5. The musical series will be relocating from Apple Music to Apple TV+ with the new season. 

Janina Gavankar is joining season 2 of ABC’s Big Sky. She will portray a woman new to town who gets pulled into the latest case Cassie and Jenny are investigating. The news comes after Britt Robertson and Michelle Forbes depart the series after their story came to an end in season 1. Additionally, Omar Metwally and Anja Savcic have been promoted to series regulars while Jesse James Keitel has switched to a recurring role after being cast in Peacock’s reboot of Queer As Folk.

The full trailer for the upcoming final season of Dear White People has been released. The Netflix series will premiere September 22 and feature many musical numbers as the graduating seniors plan a 90s musical, but Black. They run into tension when the Black American Forum plans to protest the talent show and all of the students involved.

Eminem is set to guest star as White Boy Rick in the upcoming Starz drama BMF. The series from Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is set in the late 1980s and follows one of the most influential crime families. It is inspired by the true story of two brothers who rose from the streets of Southwest Detroit. Eminem will portray an undercover FBI informant. 

HBO has renewed Painting With John for season 2. The series created by musician, actor, director and painter John Lurie follows Lurie as he reflects on life, his painting and mixes his music with his creativity. 

Lifetime has ordered a Flowers In The Attic prequel miniseries titled Flowers In The Attic: The Origin. Jemima Rooper, Max Irons, Kate Mulgrew, Paul Wesley, Kelsey Grammer, and Harry Hamlin are among those attached to star. 

Bravo has no plans to bring the Real Housewives Of Dallas back for a sixth season. This news comes off the heels of a controversial season 5 which saw a cast member caught mocking Asians, leading to Bravo putting out a statement supporting the AAPI community and against racism.
