The Flash has announced the superheroes and villains which will appear in its five episode Season 8 launch event. Appearing will be Javicia Leslie as Batwoman, Brandon Routh as The Atom, Cress Williams as Black Lightning, Chyler Leigh as Sentinel, Kat McNamara as Mia Queen, Osric Chau as Ryan Choi, Tom Cavanagh as Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash and Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk. The event, titled “Armageddon”, will see a powerful alien threat arrive on Earth under mysterious circumstances and Barry (Grant Gustin), Iris (Candice Patton) and the rest of Team Flash are pushed to their limits in a desperate battle to save the world. But with time running out, and the fate of humanity at stake, Flash and his companions will also need to enlist the help of some old friends if the forces of good are to prevail.
Netflix has announced Tudum, a global fan event which will provide viewers with exclusives and first looks at some of their favorite Netflix series. The event is named after the iconic sound that airs before their programming. Actors from over 70 series, films and specials will make appearances with trailers, panels and more to be highlighted. Series to be featured include Bridgerton, The Crown, Cobra Kai, Cowboy Bebop, The Sandman, The Witcher, Stranger Things, Army of Thieves, Big Mouth, Colin in Black and White, Emily in Paris, La Casa De Papel, Ozark and Sex Education. Tudum will stream September 25.
The second annual Star Trek Day celebration will take place September 8. The event will be live streamed and hosted by Wil Wheaton and Mica Burton. It will feature conversations with cast and creatives from across the Star Trek universe, along with exclusive news surrounding the many Star Trek series on Paramount+. An orchestra conducted by composer Jeff Russo will perform Star Trek music throughout the event. Panels will include Star Trek: Prodigy, Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and Star Trek: Picard.
HBO has canceled skateboarding comedy Betty after two seasons. The series followed a group of young women as they skateboarded in New York City and the relationships they built along the way.
Jacob Anderson has been cast as the lead for AMC’s Interview with the Vampire. He will play Louis, a young man who is seduced into the world of the undead by the amoral vampire Lestat (Sam Reid).
ESPN has canceled The Jump, hosted by Rachel Nichols. ESPN also removed Nichols from all upcoming NBA Coverage. ESPN intends to premiere a new NBA show before the coming season, which starts October 19.

AMC+ has released an official trailer for Kin, its upcoming Irish gang drama. Starring Charlie Cox, the series premieres September 9.
