Season 35 of The Simpsons will premiere on Fox October 1. The longest-running primetime scripted show in television history, The Simpsons exploded into a cultural phenomenon in 1990 and has remained one of the most groundbreaking and innovative entertainment franchises, recognizable throughout the world. This season Marge experiences a series of nightmares about young Bart’s childhood coming to an end; Homer accidentally volunteers for a school crossing guard position; sixty years in the future, Lisa recounts the story of how Homer was scapegoated for a power outage that plunged Springfield into darkness days before Thanksgiving; and the annual chilling trilogy “Treehouse of Horror XXXIV” is back!

ESPN, The Walt Disney Company, and the NFL will team up for Toy Story Funday Football October 1. Andy’s room will replicate the on-the-field gameplay from Wembley Stadium, where each Falcon and Jaguar player will have animated representation on a traditional looking field, catered to the “Toy Story” setting. Fans will view every run, pass, score and all football-related action through state-of-the-art tracking technology enabled by the NFL’s Next Gen Stats player tracking data and Beyond Sports. In addition to the gameplay, all the surrounding aspects of the game – announcers, graphics, scoreboard, penalty announcements, celebrations, and more – will all embrace the “Toy Story”-themed offering in their packaging and delivery, all occurring in Andy’s room. Woody, Buzz Lightyear and many of the characters from the acclaimed animated series will be visible throughout, participating from the sidelines and in other non-gameplay elements. 

Thursday Night Football (TNF) on Prime Video returns for season two September 14. The featured game will see the NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles stage their home opener against the NFC North Champion Minnesota Vikings. The TNF production and engineering teams are rolling out a number of new enhancements and innovations throughout the second season of exclusive coverage, aimed at bringing fans closer to the action and deepening the viewing experience. Play-by-play announce Al Michaels and analyst Kirk Herbstreit call the main broadcast each week, with sideline reports from Kaylee Hartung. TNF host Charissa Thompson, along with analysts Tony Gonzalez, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andrew Whitworth and Richard Sherman, comprise TNF‘s pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage. Taylor Rooks delivers weekly features, and journalist Michael Smith provides analysis of the game’s biggest stories. Marshawn Lynch also returns, with his wildly entertaining ‘N ‘Yo City features set to run throughout the season during TNF‘s coverage.

Netflix has ordered Korean series Aema. The series follows the struggles of Hui-ran and Joo-ae in the process of creating the film “Madame Aema”, a sensational hit that swept Korea during the early 1980s. It is a fictional comedy set in 80s Chungmuro, the heart of the Korean film industry, revealing the harsh realities of actors behind the glitzy veneer of show business.  Hanee Lee, Bang Hyo-Rin, Jin Sun-Kyu, and Cho Hyun-Chul will star in the series. 

CBS is set to air two back to back episodes of Comics Unleashed With Byron Allen September 18, 12:37-1:37 AM, ET/PT. The series is a round-table style comedy talk show featuring a rotating panel of comedians, is hosted by Byron Allen and features comedians such as: Sebastian Maniscalco, Tiffany Haddish, Gabriel Iglesias, Cedric the Entertainer, Howie Mandel, Leslie Jones, Wayne Brady, Roy Wood, Jr., Whitney Cummings, JB Smoove, Billy Gardell, Margaret Cho, Brad Garrett, Sheryl Underwood, Adam Carolla, Gina Yashere, Dane Cook, Sinbad, George Wallace, Caroline Rhea, Tommy Davidson, David Alan Grier, Kevin Hart, Chelsea Handler, Katt Williams, Dennis Miller, Jamie Kennedy, Iliza Shlesinger, Jon Lovitz, Bill Bellamy, Mike Epps, Monique, Tom Papa, Gary Owen, Natasha Leggero, Deon Cole, Lisa Ann Walter, Marc Maron, Anthony Anderson, Russell Peters and many more of today’s top comedians. The show will run for a limited time. 

The Latin Music Revolution: A Soul of a Nation Presentation will premiere on ABC September 15. The special will explore the massive popularity of global Latin music and the young stars who are taking the industry by storm with chart-topping songs and record-breaking sales. It will explore the roots and evolution of Latin pop music, the stars who are seeing mainstream success, breaking barriers, and creating a space for themselves and their music, including the difficulties of breaking through in the early decades, and how artists like Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony and Enrique Iglesias set the stage for the current moment. 

Disney and Charter have agreed upon terms to restore the majority of Disney’s networks and stations to Spectrum’s video customers. In the coming months, the Disney+ Basic ad-supported offering will be provided to customers who purchase the Spectrum TV Select package. ESPN+ will be provided to Spectrum TV Select Plus subscribers. The ESPN flagship direct-to-consumer service will be made available to Spectrum TV Select subscribers when it launches. Additionally, Baby TV, Disney Junior, Disney XD, Freeform, FXM, FXX, Nat Geo Wild and Nat Geo Mundo will no longer be included in Spectrum TV video packages. 

On the heels of The Drew Barrymore Show returning to the airs, other daytime talk shows will also begin returning as well. The Talk, The Jennifer Hudson Show, and Sherri will all begin production in the coming weeks. They will rejoin syndicated series like The View and Live! with Kelly and Mark who have been in production through the strikes. 

The Marlow Murder Club will air on Masterpiece PBS in 2024. The series is based on the novel of the same name by creator Robert Thorogood. When murder strikes the quiet riverside town of Marlow, retired archaeologist Judith Potts, feels compelled to solve the whodunnit at hand. As Potts begins to uncover a series of puzzling clues, she comes to rely on the help of other local women to investigate the case: Suzie Harris, a local dog walker and empty nester; Becks Starling, an unfulfilled vicar’s wife; and DS Tanika Malik. 

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are set to debut their new single “Bongos” live on the VMA stage. The VMAs will air live from New Jersey’s Prudential Center on September 12 at 8PM ET/PT. Also set to perform in the finale are DMC, Doug E. Fresh, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, LL COOL J, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj in a celebration of Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary. Additionally, for the first time the ceremony will air live on UniMás, with an encore on Univision at 11:30PM ET/PT, making it available to the most global audience in VMAs history. It will also feature original live, in-show commentary from Univision’s fan-favorite Alejandra Espinoza throughout the three-hour broadcast. 

Cold Case Files: The Rifkin Murders premieres on A&E September 30. The series documents the real-time New York State Police cold case investigation into the two unidentified victims of serial killer Joel Rifkin, the most prolific serial killer in New York State history. Through highly rare police access and several never-before-seen interviews, including the first interview with Rifkin in over a decade, cameras follow investigators as this 30-year-old serial killer case is reignited by TV producer Peter Reiss through his relationship with Joel Rifkin. 

Interrogation Law returns to A&E September 21. The true crime series explores the delicate twists and turns of some of the most fascinating interrogations ever done. Each hour-long episode will reveal every tactic, every make-or-break moment that occurs within those four walls. Armchair detectives will feel like they are in the room as the very detectives involved share play-by-play commentary on what is often a high-stakes game of cat and mouse. The tension is palpable since, by law, no suspect needs to talk at all. Those who do can stop at any time. 

Killer Cases returns September 29 on A&E. Weaving together interviews and gripping footage, the series is an immersive true crime roller coaster. Viewers will get a first-hand look as they hear from police officers, forensic experts, witnesses, and sometimes even the defendants themselves. 

New series Murder in the 21st premiere on A&E September 29. The true-crime series explores some of this century’s most notorious homicide investigations through a deep dive of each victim’s digital footprint. Analyzing social media posts, texts, emails and podcasts alongside authentic archival materials and police records, it provides unflinching access to each case as investigators uncover motive, means and opportunity. 

A new season of Accused: Guilty or Innocent? premieres October 5 on A&E. The series follows the dramatic inside stories – as they unfold – of people facing trial for serious crimes they are alleged to have committed. Each claims to be not guilty or that their actions were justifiable. The acclaimed true crime series offers an extraordinary and compelling account of what happens when someone is formally charged with a crime and sent to trial – all solely from the perspective of the accused, their legal team and family members. Each immersive episode follows the accused person’s journey through the planning of their legal defense, their appearances in court, and, ultimately, awaiting justice.
