The English dub of anime series Kaiju No. 8 will premiere the same day as episodes premiere in Japan, April 13, on Crunchyroll. The anime is adapted from the original manga created by Naoya Matsumoto. In a world plagued by creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in The Defense Force. He makes a promise to enlist with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Soon, life takes them in separate ways. While employed cleaning up after Kaiju battles, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa. Reno’s determination to join The Defense Force reawakens Kafka’s promise to join Mina and protect humanity.

Part 5 of The Upshaws premieres on Netflix Bennie Upshaw, the head of a Black working class family in Indianapolis, is a charming, well-intentioned mechanic and lifelong mess just trying his best to step up and care for his family – wife Regina, their two young daughters and firstborn son, the teenage son he fathered with another woman — and tolerate his sardonic sister-in-law, all without a blueprint for success. But the Upshaws are determined to make it work, and make it to the next level, together. In this upcoming part, the Upshaws continue to ride life’s ups and downs, including new jobs, bigger dreams, health struggles and some major life surprises but still hanging on with the love that comes with family.

The Spiderwick Chronicles premieres on The Roku Channel April 19. The series is based on the book series of the same name. The Grace family moves from Brooklyn, New York, to their ancestral home in Henson, Michigan, the Spiderwick Estate. Helen makes the move with her 15-year-old fraternal twin boys, Jared and Simon, and her older daughter, Mallory. Shortly after moving to the Spiderwick Estate Jared discovers a boggart and realizes that magical creatures are real! The only one to believe him is his great-aunt Lucinda who implores Jared to find the pages of her father’s field guide to magical creatures and protect them from the murderous Ogre, Mulgarath. 

Max has ordered The Pitt to series. The medical drama will star Noah Wyle.The series is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh. 

Fox has renewed Hell’s Kitchen for two seasons. The culinary competition series will be back for season 23 and season 24. Aspiring chefs from across the restaurant industry are put through an intense culinary academy to prove to Chef Gordon Ramsay they have the talent and tenacity to come out on top each week. Only those who can take the searing heat of Hell’s Kitchen will continue to compete each week, until one prevails as the winner. At stake is a life-changing grand prize, including claiming a chef position at one of Ramsay’s own renowned restaurants across the country, and the title of Hell’s Kitchen winner. 

MGM+ has ordered sci-fi series Earth Abides. The six-episode limited series is based on the novel of the same name by George R. Stewart and will star Alexander Ludwig. When a plague of unprecedented virulence sweeps the globe, the human race is all but wiped out. In the aftermath, as the great machine of civilization slowly and inexorably breaks down, only a few shattered survivors remain to struggle against the slide into extinction. 

Jenn Tran will make Bachelor franchise history when her journey to love begins on the upcoming 21st season of The Bachelorette. After charming audiences with her bubbly personality on Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor, the 26-year-old fan favorite will begin handing out roses when the series returns this summer on ABC. Tran is a sweet and compassionate woman who has dedicated her life to helping others and is currently studying to become a physician assistant. The bilingual Vietnamese beauty currently resides in Miami and is ready to find love with a man who’s as reliable and thoughtful as she is. When she’s not studying, Tran loves reading, paddleboarding and traveling whenever she has the chance. 

Apple TV+ has ordered Imperfect Women. Starring Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington, the limited series is based on Araminta Hall’s gripping, immersive novel of the same name. An unconventional, psychological thriller examining a crime that shatters the lives of a decades-long friendship of three women, the series is a mystery complicated by perspective that explores guilt and retribution, love and betrayal, and the compromises we make that alter our lives irrevocably. As the investigation unravels, so does the truth about how even the closest relationships can change over time. 

ID has ordered an additional episode of Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV. The episode will premiere April 7. Titled “Breaking the Silence,” the episode will delve deeper into the toxic and dangerous culture behind some of the most iconic children’s television shows of the late 1990s and early 2000s, including allegations of abuse, sexism and racism.

Brett Goldstein is set to appear in the second season of Shrinking. Goldstein is the co-creator of the Apple TV+ series. 

Tubi will stream Gordita Chronicles. The series briefly streamed on Max before it was canceled and pulled from the streamer. All episodes will be available March 29. 

Tyla Abercrumbie and Diany Rodriguez have been cast in the upcoming CBS series NCIS: Origins. They join Austin Stowell, Mariel Molino and Kyle Schmid in the NCIS prequel series. 

Cody Johnson, Megan Moroney, Old Dominion and Parker McCollum + Brittney Spencer join the must-see performer lineup for the 2024 CMT Music Awards. Hosted by Kelsea Ballerini, the ceremony will air live from Austin, Texas’ Moody Center on April 7 (8:00-11:00 PM ET/delayed PT) on CBS.

Entertainment Tonight special NCISVerse: The First 1,000 will premiere April 8 on CBS. Hosted by Kevin Frazier, the special will take an exclusive look inside the world’s #1 television franchise. It features exclusive interviews with the stars of NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS: Hawai’i, and NCIS: Sydney. The cast and guest stars share favorite memories and behind-the-scenes moments from 20 years’ worth of never-before-seen interviews from the ET vault. 

Peacock will be the exclusive national home of the NFL’s first-ever regular-season game in Brazil, streaming in primetime on September 6. The game, which will be played in São Paulo, marks the third Peacock exclusive NFL game following the Bills-Chargers regular season game in December 2023 and the Dolphins-Chiefs AFC Wild Card game in January 2024, which delivered the largest streaming audience in U.S. history. 

Curt Menefee teams with Joel Klatt to lead the FOX Sports broadcast team onto the field for the inaugural season of the United Football League (UFL). Menefee and Klatt are on the call Saturday, March 30, when the two-time USFL champion Birmingham Stallions take on the 2023 XFL champion Arlington Renegades from Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, Texas to kick off the new professional spring football league on FOX at 1:00 PM ET. Former NFL quarterback Brock Huard will report from the sidelines. Kevin Kugler and Devin Gardner will deliver the second half of the opening day UFL doubleheader, the St. Louis Battlehawks at the Michigan Panthers Saturday, March 30 at 4:00 PM ET on FOX from Detroit’s Ford Field, with former Denver Broncos tight end Jake Butt working the sidelines. 

Netflix has begun production on Argentinian series limited series Caught (Atrapados). Reporter Ema Garay gains visibility amongst digital journalism by catching criminals who tend to evade justice in Bariloche city, in Patagonia Argentina. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Leo Mercer, a social worker and referent, who ends up being the main suspect of her investigation on the disappearance of a 16 year old girl. While Ema tries to discover the truth, she will have to confront herself. 

Competition series The GOAT premieres on Amazon Freevee May 9. 14 reality superstars – from Bachelorettes to Housewives to Survivors to Drag Racers and everyone in between – move into GOAT Manor under the watchful eye of host Daniel Tosh to compete in over 20 challenges, earning and breaking one another’s trust along the way. New sides of longtime favorites will be on display as they battle it out for $200k… and the title of Greatest of All Time. Miniseries The Asunta Case, based on true events, premieres on Netflix April 26. On September 21, 2013, Rosario Porto and Alfonso Basterra file a report on the disappearance of their daughter Asunta. Police investigations point to her parents as possible culprits. The news shakes the whole country. What really happened the night Asunta disappeared?
