Star Wars: The Acolyte premieres on Disney+ June 4 with the first two episodes. An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master against a dangerous warrior from his past. As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems. The eight episode series stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss. 

Season two of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire premieres May 12 on AMC and AMC+. In the year 2022, the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac recounts his life story to journalist Daniel Molloy. Picking up from the bloody events in New Orleans in 1940 when Louis and teen fledgling Claudia conspired to kill the Vampire Lestat de Lioncourt, Louis tells of his adventures in Europe, a quest to discover Old World Vampires and the Theatre Des Vampires in Paris, with Claudia. It is in Paris that Louis first meets the Vampire Armand. Their courtship and love affair will prove to have devastating consequences both in the past and in the future, and Molloy will probe to get to the truths buried within the memories. 

Conan O’Brien Must Go premieres April 18 on Max. The four episode series sees host Conan O’Brien visiting new friends he’s met through his podcast, “Conan O’Brien Needs a Fan,” where he dives deep with listeners from around the world. Making stops in Norway, Thailand, Argentina, and Ireland, O’Brien surprises some of his most memorable fans while also taking in local culture, cuisine, and sights. 

NCIS: Sydney has been renewed for a second season on CBS and Paramount+. The series sees rising international tensions in the Indo-Pacific, where a brilliant and eclectic team of U.S. NCIS agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) have been grafted into a multi-national taskforce to keep naval crimes in check in the most contested patch of ocean on the planet. The series stars Olivia Swann, Todd Lasance, Sean Sagar, Tuuli Narkle, Mavournee Hazel and William McInnes. 

Peacock has ordered limited crime thriller series The Good Daughter. Starring Jessica Biel, the series is a suspenseful crime drama where sisters Charlotte and Samantha Quinn have spent the last twenty-eight years trying to piece together the lives that were fractured by a single night of violence. When another attack splinters the small town of Pikeville, Charlotte is the first witness on the scene. Now a lawyer like her father, she’s forced to confront her own demons as the case twists through one shocking revelation after another. In the end, both she and Samantha find themselves wondering if the price of being the good daughter was worth it after all. The series is based on Karin Slaughter’s novel. 

Season one of anime series Rising Impact will premiere on Netflix June 22. Season two will premiere shortly after on August 6. Gawain Nanaumi is a third-grader with an incredible love for baseball and making the ball really fly. In a chance encounter with a female professional golfer, Kiria Nishino, he learns that golf will allow him to hit a ball further than any other sport. Using his physical strength and keen observational skills gained from living in a rural mountain area, he manages to hit the ball to such an impressive distance that it rivals even that of professionals. With Kiria’s help, the new golf enthusiast enrolls at Camelot Academy, a prestigious school for both skilled and aspiring golfers from around the world. Gawain wants to be the best professional golfer in the world but there are other golf prodigies with extraordinary skills that stand in his way and he has to face various trials to overcome them. 

The English dub of anime series Sand Land: The Series will premiere on hulu April 10 with two episodes. Sand Land is a mysterious world where demons and humans eke out an existence in a barren desert wasteland. In hopes of replenishing their water supply, Fiend Prince Beelzebub, a demon named Thief, and a human named Sheriff Rao team up and embark on a journey in search of the Legendary Spring. Hulu also announced that the entire season of the English dub of anime series Ishura would be released on the streamer April 8, though the Senior Manager of English Dubbing at Disney, Reuben Lack, says the release is more likely to be early summer.

Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar will make its adult swim debut April 5 at midnight. The finale movie was previously released on home video last year. The movie will stream on Max the following day. 

All six seasons of Community arrive on Peacock April 1. The previously announced Community: The Movie will air exclusively on Peacock. When his college degree is challenged as a fake, lawyer and schemer Jeff Winger is forced to return to school. As he reluctantly becomes the leader of a misfit collection of fellow students, Jeff soon realizes that the easy way out is no guarantee for survival in community college. 

Netflix has ordered sports docuseries Receiver. The series follows five of the NFL’s best pass catchers Davante Adams (Las Vegas Raiders), Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings), George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers), Deebo Samuel (San Francisco 49ers), and Amon-Ra St. Brown (Detroit Lions) during the NFL 2023-24 season. The eight episode series will premiere this summer. 

The Winter 2024 anime season on Crunchyroll is coming to an end. Some of the biggest series are airing their finales in the coming days. The season finale of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End airs March 22. The season finales of A Sign of Affection (one of my favorites of the season!) and The Apothecary Diaries will air March 23. The season finales of 7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy! and Mr. Villain’s Day Off air March 24. The season finale of Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! (another personal favorite of mine!) airs March 25. More finales and the Spring season will get underway soon!

Travis Kelce is reportedly in talks to host a revival of game show Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? for Prime Video. The series previously ran for two runs on Fox and a stint on Nickelodeon. 

Season two of That Girl Lay Lay will be the final season. The Nickelodeon series will air its series finale March 20. 

Bailey Zimmerman, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Lainey Wilson and Sam Hunt join host Kelsea Ballerini as performers for the 2024 CMT Music Awards. The ceremony airs live from Austin, Texas’ Moody Center April 7 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) on CBS. Additional performers, presenters and details will be announced soon. 

Netflix has ordered Dutch original series Amsterdam Empire starring Famke Janssen set to premiere in 2025. Jack van Doorn, the rich and notorious founder of the coffee shop empire Jackal, has had to fight his entire career against criminals, competitors, and absurd Dutch laws to become the biggest of them all. When his affair with a well-known journalist comes to light, it turns out that his most dangerous enemy has been living under his roof all this time: his betrayed wife, Betty, an ex-pop diva who knows all his weak spots and secrets and will not rest until she has taken everything from him. It is an extravagant crime drama full of glamour and grime at the heart of the Amsterdam cannabis scene. 

ESPN and the College Football Playoff have extended their exclusive media rights agreement through the 2031-32 season. ESPN will retain exclusive worldwide rights to all rounds of the expanded College Football Playoff, the second largest annual sporting event in the U.S. Starting in 2026-27, the College Football Playoff National Championship will be broadcast on ABC in addition to ESPN’s signature MegaCast resentation. 

Warner Bros. Discovery will have exclusive U.S. rights to the Professional Fighters League’s new Bellator Champions Series. All eight 2024 Global Premium MMA events will stream exclusively live On Max, with the first event kicking off this Friday, March 22. Max subscribers will gain access to two new docuseries along with the best of Bellator’s fight library. TNT Sports on truTV will feature Bellator content throughout the year. Broadcast details will be announced in the coming weeks.  

TMZ Investigates: Where Is Kate Middleton? will air on Fox March 21. he Princess of Wales has been missing for months, with only rare glimpses of her outside her home. TMZ takes a hard look at how the Palace’s controversial handling of the crisis – including a headline-making photoshop fail – ignited a firestorm of speculation and conspiracy theories. The special replaces the previously scheduled Farmer Wants a Wife which will instead return March 28

Kaos is coming soon to Netflix. Jeff Goldblum plays Zeus, king of the gods. All-powerful, cruel, occasionally benevolent… he has no idea that the plot to take him down has begun. 

Dead Hot premieres on Tubi March 27. Set in present-day Liverpool, twentysomethings Elliot and Jess are best friends united by a bond of grief at losing Peter – the first and only love of Elliot and Jess’ twin brother. It’s been five years since Peter went missing in mysterious circumstances, and still reeling from the trauma, the best friends spiral into a hedonistic lifestyle, partying to numb their grief while clinging to a small hope that they will one day find out what happened. When Elliot meets Will, he starts to think he can put the past behind him. But when Elliot learns Will has his own dark secrets, just as Jess is contacted by somebody claiming to be her brother, it sets into motion a determination for the pair to find out if Elliot’s romantically cursed – or being targeted. 

The Hijacking of Flight 601 premieres April 10 on Netflix. The series is inspired by the longest aerial hijacking in Latin American history, which occurred on May 30th, 1973. Two armed revolutionaries hijack and threaten to blow up Flight 601 unless the Colombian government releases 50 political prisoners and pays them a large cash ransom. Faced with political leaders’ refusal to negotiate, the aggressors make drastic decisions that will jeopardize the hostages’ safety as the plane flies aimlessly. Amid the impending horror, the captain and two brave stewardesses must fight to return the hostages safely and outwit the hijackers while negotiating with the authorities.

Docuseries CTRL+ALT+DESIRE premieres April 16 on Paramount+. The series follows the investigation of the shocking killings that rocked a quiet Florida town. It opens a dark door to the haunting case of Grant Amato, a 29-year-old Florida man accused of murdering his own family execution style for the love of a cam girl. It exposes a chilling tale of addiction, deceit and online obsession. Amato’s life descended into chaos when he stumbled into the world of live-stream cam models and immediately fell head over heels in love with Silvie, a Bulgarian cam girl. The series taps into four years of prison phone calls recorded from a contraband cell phone and clues scattered across Florida, Eastern Europe and the deep web to reveal a story far more complex than expected. It is a gripping cautionary tale of what happens when the lines between fantasy and reality are irrevocably blurred. 

Supacell will premiere on Netflix this June. The series is about a group of five ordinary people who unexpectedly develop superpowers. They have little in common except for one thing: they are all Black South Londoners. It is down to one man, Michael Lasaki, to bring them all together in order to save the woman he loves.

Adventure docuseries Orlando Bloom: To the Edge premieres April 18 on Disney+. The 3-part limited adventure docuseries follows celebrated actor and adventure enthusiast Orlando Bloom. In the series, Bloom takes viewers on a thrilling journey of self-discovery as he pushes his limits physically and mentally to reach his personal edge of what is possible. Through fear defying adventures and spiritual awareness, Bloom overcomes his fears and learns more about himself, while inspiring the audience at home to explore and expand their own limits in everyday life.
