Netflix has renewed The Witcher for a fifth and final season as production on the fourth begins. Seasons 4 and 5 will film back to back and adapt the remaining of Sapkowski’s books, Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow and Lady of the Lake, promising to offer an epic and satisfying conclusion to Netflix’s hit fantasy drama. After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding one another again. 

CBS has renewed Elsbeth for a second season. The series stars Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni, an astute but unconventional attorney who utilizes her singular point of view to make unique observations and corner brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD. After leaving her successful legal career in Chicago to tackle a new investigative role in New York City, Elsbeth finds herself jockeying with the toast of the NYPD, Captain C.W. Wagner, a charismatic and revered leader. Working alongside Elsbeth is Officer Kaya Blanke, a stoic and ethical officer who quickly develops an appreciation for Elsbeth’s insightful and offbeat ways.The series is based on the character featured in The Good Wife and The Good Fight. 

Season two of We Are Lady Parts premieres May 30 on Peacock. Education activist Malala Yousafzai and comedian Meera Syal are set to guest star. The new six episode season sees the band return with a renewed artistic mission after the high of their first UK tour, only to find a rival band threatens their delicate status quo. As the reality of chasing success sets in, Lady Parts embark on recording their first album, juggling personal ambitions and deciding whether ‘making it big’ is really what they wanted. 

Prime Video has renewed Fallout for a second season. Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, the series is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind – and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them. 

Season two of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School premieres May 9 on Max. Following the harrowing events of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, our Pretty Little Liars face a fate worse than death – summer school. However, Millwood High isn’t the only thing getting in the way of their fun summer jobs and new, dreamy love interests. A new villain, who may or may not have a connection to A, has come to town and is going to put them all to the test. 

The English Dub of Laid-Back Camp season three premieres on Crunchyroll April 18. The season premiere comes on the heels of the second season finale. Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she’s forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it’s night, in a place she’s never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. This outdoorsy girls story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.

The Chi returns May 10 on Paramount+ with Showtime and on air May 12. This season, Emmett and Kiesha’s blissful blended union is tested by his perilous partnership with Douda, who is dealing with the fallout of Q’s murder and its effect on the shifting loyalty of his inner circle. Victor’s tangled past impacts his new role as city councilman. Newlyweds Jada and Darnell fear for son Emmett after he makes a desperate, life-threatening move. Rob and Tiff’s cannabis business and Jake’s apparel line take off, while Papa is still struggling with the senseless loss of his beloved father. Maisha fights for her own big career move in spite of manager Jemma’s newly divided attentions. But danger lies in wait… no one is safe and everyone will be tested as never before over the course of the sixth season’s shocking last eight episodes. 

Season two of Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars premieres May 22 on Fox. Gordon Ramsay and Lisa Vanderpump each bring their expert knowledge and unique leadership styles to the second season of the competition series, and in a first-of-its kind twist, the entrepreneurs will pitch themselves and their products, services or business ideas to the moguls, who will then choose contestants to build their respective teams. The battle commences as teams are put through “Business Bootcamp,” designed to test their tenacity, initiative, perseverance and ambition as business leaders. With a $250,000 prize on the line, these entrepreneurs will be challenged in all aspects of running a food or beverage enterprise, including re-marketing a food product, innovating a new product, building brand loyalty, sales pitching and management. In addition to Ramsay and Vanderpump, the challenges will be evaluated by guest judges, curated focus groups and customer feedback, profit and loss metrics, and market and corporate feedback. 

Comedic mystery thriller Sunny premieres July 10 on Apple TV+. The series stars Rashida Jones as Suzie, an American woman living in Kyoto, Japan, whose life is upended when her husband and son disappear in a mysterious plane crash. As “consolation” she’s given Sunny, one of a new class of domestic robots made by her husband’s electronics company. Though at first, Suzie resents Sunny’s attempts to fill the void in her life, gradually they develop an unexpected friendship. Together they uncover the dark truth of what really happened to Suzie’s family and become dangerously enmeshed in a world Suzie never knew existed.

Stephen Colbert is taking The Late Show on the road. The show will broadcast from Chicago’s storied Auditorium Theater during the week of this year’s Democratic National Convention, also taking place in Chicago, from Monday, Aug. 19-Thursday, Aug. 22, on CBS. 

Last Samurai Standing is coming to Netflix. The series is based on the novel “Ikusagami” by Shogo Imamura. Set in the late 19th century during the Meiji period, Last Samurai Standing takes place at the Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto. Come nightfall, 292 skilled warriors gather, lured by the promise of a grand prize of 100 billion yen. Among them is our protagonist, Shujiro Saga, who enters this dangerous game with one goal: to save his ailing wife and child. 

Part 1 of Power Book II: Ghost premieres June 7 on Starz. The final season promises to be explosive, with high-adrenaline twists and turns as everyone is on the hunt for revenge. Each character’s respective motivations fuel their power of choice to dive deeper into the game, fight their way out, or walk a blurry line between the two. As family dynamics are tested and tensions reach their peak, the unpredictable nature of this season will have viewers questioning who you can trust and if your own family will betray you. 

Tom Durant Pritchard has joined the cast of PBS’ Miss Scarlet. The casting comes as Stuart Martin left the series. 

Chinese-language revenge thriller The Resurrected is coming to Netflix. The dark and suspenseful series follows the journey of two desperate mothers as they resurrect a deceased ringleader of a telecommunication fraud scheme to avenge their kidnapped daughters. 

NBA on TNT will exclusively present the Western Conference 2024 SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament finale Friday, April 19, at 9:30 p.m. ET. The New Orleans Pelicans and C.J. McCollum will host the Sacramento Kings and Domantas Sabonis in a win-or-go-home matchup, with Ian Eagle (play-by-play), Grant Hill (analyst) and Jared Greenberg (reporter) providing commentary. Friday night’s winner will secure the West’s No. 8 seed and a First Round series against the No. 1 seeded Oklahoma City Thunder. 

NBA TV will televise up to nine 2024 NBA Playoffs presented by AT&T games, tipping off with Game 2 between the Orlando Magic with Paolo Banchero and the Cleveland Cavaliers with Donovan Mitchell on Monday, April 22 at 7 p.m. ET. The network’s back-to-back nights of coverage will continue Tuesday, April 23, with the Milwaukee Bucks and Damian Lillard hosting the Indiana Pacers and Tyrese Haliburton, Game 2, at 8:30 p.m. 

My Adventures with Superman will return for a second season on adult swim. No word on a premiere date has been announced.

America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will premiere this summer on Netflix. The series follows the 2023-24 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad from start to finish – kicking off at auditions and training camp and continuing all the way through the NFL season. The seven-episode series will give viewers unfiltered access into this iconic team and franchise. Led by longtime director Kelli Finglass, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders open their doors to document the personal stories behind the uniforms – revealing the drive, hustle, and drama among the cheerleaders and coaches. For many, it’s a dream to make the team – but that’s only just the beginning. 

Comedy special Nikki Glaser: Someday You’ll Die premieres May 11 on HBO. Taped in December 2023 in front of a sold-out audience at the Moore Theater in Seattle, Washington, Glaser dives into a wide range of topics including why she doesn’t want kids, the harsh realities of aging, her sexual fantasies, and plans for her own death – all in her hilarious, unapologetic, and brutally honest style. The special showcases why Glaser is one of the funniest, and most fearless, comedians today. 

Botched Bariatrics premieres May 15 on TLC. The new medical transformation series features patients whose lives have been turned upside down after suffering complications from their bariatric surgery. These patients are in dire need of help, ranging from a woman who can only eat pureed food to a man living with explosive bowels. Doctors and experts in their fields, bariatric surgeons Dr. Khan, Dr. Hodges, and Dr. Rao along with plastic surgeons Dr. Kundu and Dr. Caplin, take on these botched bariatric patients and see if they can undo the mistakes made during their previous surgeries. 

Call Me Country: Beyonce & Nashville’s Renaissance is coming to Max April 26. Beyoncé’s highly anticipated album “Cowboy Carter,” released March 29, arrived during a revolution within country music as the latest arena of the culture wars in America. Some in the industry are welcoming more diverse artists, while others stick to a much narrower view of a genre that predominately centers around straight, white men. The special examines the impact of how high-profile artists like Lil Nas X and Beyoncé are challenging the country music status quo and how Black artists in Nashville have been laying the foundation for this transformation for some time. 

Season three of Clarkson’s Farm part one consisting of the first four episodes will premiere May 3 on Prime Video. Part two, consisting of episodes 5-8 will premiere May 10. The third series of Clarkson’s Farm finds Diddly Squat Farm facing some seriously daunting challenges. The crops are failing in the severe hot weather, inflation has driven prices of supplies sky high, dreams for the beloved restaurant are dashed and now the farm shop also faces closure. 

The English dub of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season three premieres April 19 on Crunchyroll. Corporate worker Mikami Satoru is stabbed by a random killer, and is reborn to an alternate world. But he turns out to be reborn a slime! Thrown into this new world with the name Rimuru, he begins his quest to create a world that’s welcoming to all races.
