Comedy series The Franchise premieres on HBO October 6. The series follows the crew of an unloved franchise movie fighting for their place in a savage and unruly cinematic universe. The comedy series shines a light on the secret chaos inside the world of superhero moviemaking, to ask the question – how exactly does the cinematic sausage get made? Because every f*ck-up has an origin story. 

NBC’s Saturday Night Live has added Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim and Jane Wickline as featured performers for the upcoming 50th season. Former featured performers Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker will be promoted. Chloe Troast, who was a featured performer last season, will not be returning. Punkie Johnson and Molly Kearney previously left the series ahead of the new season.

The CBS Fall First Look special will air September 19 on CBS. The special will be headlined by scores of new and returning CBS stars sharing fun facts and cross-show conversations about “CBS Fall” 2024 and presenting sneak peeks across the lineup. 

Netflix has renewed Full Swing for a third season. The series follows a diverse group of professional golfers – on and off the course – during a relentless season of competition. 

CBS will air its first primetime special featuring comedian Nate Bargatze this December. Taped at the iconic Grand Ole Opry on November 21, the holiday special will be anchored by Bargatze, who will serve as master of ceremonies, guiding audiences through a mix of stand-up comedy, pre-taped comedy shorts, sketches and musical performances. The show will shine a spotlight on the heart and spirit of Nashville during the holiday season, highlighting family, fun and feel-good moments that resonate with audiences of all ages. This marks Bargatze’s return to The Grand Ole Opry, where his journey in comedy began as an entry-level employee. Bargatze will collaborate with Saturday Night Live’s Mikey Day and co-head writer Streeter Seidell, who previously joined forces with Bargatze when he hosted SNL last season on the wildly popular “Washington’s Dream” sketch. 

Joe Manganiello is set to host Netflix’s Geeked Week 2024 live from Atlanta, September 19. The event will stream live on YouTube, Twitch and X around the world. Jacob Bertrand and Xolo Maridueña will serve as special correspondents throughout the two-hour live event. Geeked Week is back and bigger than ever, giving fans sneak peeks, news and surprises from Squid Game, Arcane, One Piece, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Don’t Move, Wednesday, Cobra Kai, Monument Valley 3, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Devil May Cry and more. 

Ali Wong returns to Netflix with a new comedy special, Single Lady, premiering October 8. Ali Wong opens up about post-divorce life and the quest for love. The special was filmed at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, CA as part of Netflix Is a Joke Fest 2024. 

Docuseries The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox premieres October 23 on Netflix. The series celebrates the 20th anniversary of the team’s groundbreaking postseason run with new, exclusive interviews featuring key players and figures including: Pedro Martinez, David Ortiz, Kevin Millar, Terry Francona & Theo Epstein, among many others.

AXS TV’s Vinyl Obsession returns for season two with pro-wrestling standout Eric Young as the new host on October 6. The series provides in-depth access to some of music’s biggest names each week, as two special guests peruse the selections at either Grimey’s in Nashville or The Record Parlour in Los Angeles, in search of the vinyl records that have inspired and influenced them the most. The premiere features trailblazing Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine and acclaimed radio personality Bobby Bones, followed by metal mastermind Sebastian Bach and Foo Fighters axeman Chris Shiflett on October 13. Other guests include guitar virtuosos John 5 and Steve Vai, Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt, Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, pop superstars Jeff Timmons and Debbie Gibson, and many more.

Limited series Senna premieres on Netflix November 29. The series follows Ayrton Senna’s journey of triumphs, disappointments, joys, and sorrows, unveiling his personality and personal relationships. It begins with the start of the three-time Formula 1 champion’s motor racing career, when he moves to England to compete in Formula Ford, and continues to his fatal accident in Imola, Italy, during the San Marino Grand Prix. 

Swedish crime drama Taelgia premieres September 24 on Viaplay. In the diverse Swedish city of Södertälje, families, police and criminals are caught in a crossfire of loyalties, demands and guilt. Meanwhile, some young people are trying to find a way to a better life. Surrounding the adult criminals are the younger ones, the runners. They sell drugs and rig getaway mopeds, until one day they are forced to take on more dangerous missions with a mixture of fear and pride. This is their story. It is also the story of their families: wondering siblings and desperate parents struggling to keep their children on the straight and narrow. Gabriel has recently moved into the Ronna district of Södertälje., while teenager Marko deals drugs in the local area. Soon, the pair become immersed in a murky underworld of serious crime as unrest hits the city and debts owed by Gabriel’s family take their toll.

Audible’s audio drama series Mistletoe Murders will return for season three November 7. Cobie Smulders, Raymond Ablack, and Anna Cathcart will return for the new season. When Emily Lane isn’t busy running her charming Christmas-themed store, “Under the Mistletoe,” located in the quaint tourist town of Fletcher’s Grove, she finds herself compelled to investigate not so quaint local murders. On the surface, Emily is a perfectly lovely, good-natured puzzle-solver and mystery lover. But she is hiding a secret past that has finally begun to catch up with her, as an old acquaintance arrives to throw a wedge between Emily and Sam’s burgeoning relationship, and worse, threatens to destroy the new life Emily has built for herself.

Stray Kids will perform both the opening and ending theme songs for the upcoming second cour of Tower Of God season two, premiering October 6 on Crunchyroll. The WORKSHOP BATTLE is one of the most popular arcs in the Tower of God story. In this battle, selected teams compete to win. Matt Bomer, Viola Davis, Colin Farrell, Lily Gladstone, Selena Gomez, Joshua Jackson, Don Johnson, Mindy Kaling, Jimmy Kimmel, Greta Lee, John Leguizamo, George Lopez, Steve Martin, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Martin Sheen, Martin Short, Jean Smart, Dick Van Dyke, Kristen Wiig and more are set to present at the 76th Emmy Awards September 15 on ABC. The ceremony will be hosted by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy from the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles.

Viewers will get an unprecedented glimpse into the dedication and skill required to compete at the sport’s highest level.

Robin Roberts hosts The 76th Emmys: A Night of Firsts, airing September 13 (8:00-9:01 p.m. EDT), sharing a captivating look at this year’s Emmy Award nominees who are breaking barriers and shattering ceilings just hours before television’s biggest stars hit the red carpet in anticipation of this year’s 76th Emmy Awards. Then, leading up to television’s biggest night, Robin Roberts will be joined by ABC News correspondent Will Reeve to host On the Red Carpet: Live at the Emmys September 15. The 76th Emmy Awards airs live coast to coast September 15, on ABC and next day on Hulu. 

Aaron Rodgers: Enigma premieres December 17 on Netflix. The sports series will follow Aaron Rodgers’ comeback after tearing his Achilles, while also exploring his life and career through the intimate and difficult parts that made him a household name on and off the field. 

Docuseries Social Studies premieres on FX September 27. The series features a diverse group of LA teens who offer an intimate glimpse into how social media has reshaped childhood. From battling bullying, grappling with beauty standards, coping with comparison pressures and racism, exploring sexuality, and making life-altering decisions, viewers go on a raw, visceral and urgent journey through the challenges of growing up in the digital era. 

True crime docuseries The Hunt for the Chameleon Killer premieres October 10 on Sundance TV. After a headless, handless body is discovered in a Florida canal in 1990, law enforcement begins a search for the killer which takes them all the way to London before the trail goes cold. What ensues is a string of stolen identities, wrongful accusations, and a twelve-year cat-and-mouse chase across multiple countries as authorities close in on the most wanted woman in the world. Exploring all the crimes of Elaine Parent, the series uncovers every potential victim and determines whether law enforcement is correct in their belief that she was a serial killer. It shows how Parent claimed an interest in numerology, and that she could predict the future with the help of key numbers, to get her victims to divulge their personal details, which she then used to steal their identities. Ultimately, The Hunt for the Chameleon Killer answers the key questions at the very heart of the story: Who was Elaine Parent? And what drove her to commit these crimes?
