Season six of Virgin River premieres December 19 on Netflix with all ten episodes. Against the backdrop of Mel and Jack’s romantic spring wedding season, this sixth installment promises fresh twists and turns, escalating love triangles, delightful wedding drama, as well as uncovered secrets from Mel’s father’s past which will transport us to the magic and mystique of Virgin River in the 1970s.

To celebrate the ten year anniversary of Cartoon Network’s Over The Garden Wall a two-minute stop motion animated short is coming November 3 to Cartoon Network’s YouTube channel and social media. It is a collaboration between series creator Patrick McHale and Aardman. 

The third and final season of Somebody Somewhere premieres October 27 on HBO. The series follows Sam, a true Kansan on the surface, but, beneath it all, struggling to fit the hometown mold. Grappling with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam’s saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don’t fit in but don’t give up, showing that finding your people, and finding your voice, is possible. Anywhere. Somewhere. In season three, we see growth against all odds. 

Sports series Starting 5 will premiere on Netflix October 9. The series provides an intense, behind-the-scenes look at the 2023-24 NBA season through the eyes of five of the league’s biggest players – Jimmy Butler (Miami Heat), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), Domantas Sabonis (Sacramento Kings) and Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics). The series captures their battles on and off the court as they chase greatness, push through injuries, and balance the demands of family and legacy. James pushes himself harder than ever to stay healthy – and dominant – in his 21st season, while Edwards electrifies with his rapid rise. Butler’s relentless drive propels the Heat, Sabonis anchors the Kings with his versatile play, and Tatum leads the Celtics in their quest for a record 18th championship. It delivers an unfiltered view of life at the pinnacle of professional basketball. 

Secret Life of Diddy – A Special Edition of 20/20 premieres October 9 on ABC. The one-hour special takes a look at the shocking arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs, and the downfall of the famous and powerful hip-hop mogul. Once a paragon of Black excellence, the allegations of violence and sexual assault could send Diddy to prison for the rest of his life with wide-reaching repercussions. New reporting and new details as the allegations of his alleged criminal enterprise, involving “freak offs,” drugs and sex trafficking, continue to come to light. Singer, rapper and actor Ray J speaks out in a new interview. The special also includes a recent interview with Lizzette Martinez, who survived abuse at the hands of R. Kelly. She speaks about an encounter she says she had with Diddy and reacts to the upsetting CNN video showing Diddy beating his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Also included are Tiffany Red, a friend of Cassie Ventura who provides intimate details about the relationship between Cassie and Diddy; and contributors Kelley Carter, ABC News entertainment contributor; Aaron Katersky, ABC News senior investigative correspondent; Brian Buckmire, ABC News legal contributor and defense attorney; and Jamilah Lemieux, culture critic and writer. 

Don’t Come Home premieres October 31 on Netflix. When a daughter disappears from her house in the middle of the forest, a mother sets out to find her but only encounters a mystery that comes with suspense all around. 

The English dub of Nina the Starry Bride premieres October 7 on Crunchyroll. The series will also stream with English subtitles. Nina, a girl living as an orphan in the Fortna Castle Town, happens to have eyes of the same deep blue hue as lapis lazuli—just like the God of the Stars. They’re also the same color as the eyes of the recently deceased Princess Alisha. For that reason, when the second prince of Fortna, Azure, discovers Nina, he ordains that she will live as the princess in Alisha’s place. As substitute princess and Priestess of the Stars, Nina is obligated to become the false bride of Sett, the first prince of the large neighboring nation of Galgada after the third month has passed. Despite being at the mercy of fate, Nina is just happy to feel needed by someone. What is it that her open, honest eyes see? The destinies of all the players on this stage begin to move when they make up their minds to protect the ones they love!

The CW is making more changes to its Fall schedule. Inside the NFL will shift from Friday to Wednesday beginning October 9. After one episode on Wednesday, Joan will move to Fridays starting October 11. 

As the Summer anime season comes to a close, three series have been renewed for new seasons. Mission: Yozakura Family, which streams on hulu, will return for a second season. Oshi no Ko, which streams on HIDIVE, will return for a third season. The Elusive Samurai, which streams on Crunchyroll, will return for a second season. 

AXS TV conjures up hours of macabre music mayhem in AXS TV’s Shocktober event – airing Friday, October 25 through Thursday, October 31. The frighteningly festive lineup is packed with iconic concerts, horror movies, candid conversations, and themed episodes of hit AXS TV series, getting viewers into the spirit of the season and serving as the perfect backdrop to the month’s Halloween hijinks. The block begins on Friday, October 25 at 8P ET, as a malevolent spirit haunts a family throughout the generations in An American Haunting, starring Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek. Other highlights include groundbreaking concerts featuring Nirvana’s famed Halloween homecoming concert Nirvana: Live At The Paramount, filmed just five weeks after Nevermind shocked the airwaves. Also, costume-clad rock monsters KISS roaring through Sin City with a hit-packed set in KISS Rocks Vegas. 

The Fall 2024 anime season premieres continue this week on Crunchyroll. Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions Season 2, Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii, Natsume’s Book of Friends Season 7, Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season 2, After-school Hanako-kun, and Love Live! Superstar!! Season 3 premiere October 7. A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School! Premieres October 8. The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor premieres October 9. Dragon Ball DAIMA premieres October 11. DEMON LORD 2099 premieres October 12. Shangri-La Frontier Season 2 premieres October 13. Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest Season 3 premieres October 14.
