Blade Runner 2099 will premiere November 25 on Prime Video with all eight episodes. In Los Angeles 2099, Olwen, a veteran Blade Runner days from dying, partners with a mysterious new recruit, Cora, to investigate a widening conspiracy that stretches back to the city’s darkest original sins. Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer star along with Dimitri Abold and Lewis Gribben. Katelyn Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, Johnny Harris, Amy Lennox, Sheila Atim, Matthew Needham, Tom Burke and Maurizio Lombardi are recurring guest stars.
Lanterns premieres August 16 on HBO. The series follows new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery with cosmic ties as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.
The new season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere November 11 on Prime Video. Jamie Campbell Bower will play Galadriel’s long-lost husband “Celeborn.” Zubin Varla will play “Khamûl the Easterling,” of Rhûn. Eddie Marsan will portray King Durin IV’s older brother, “Thrain.” Andrew Richardson will play Elendil’s younger son and Isildur’s brother, “Anarion.” Adam Young will play “Marnûkh,” a mysterious Orc who may not be what he seems. Simon Pegg will voice Balrog who will speak for the first time. In Season Three, Middle-earth is at war. Five years have passed since the fall of Eregion. Sauron’s armies have marched across the whole of the world, conquering all in their path. AMC has renewed Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire for a fourth season to be titled Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned. The renewal closely follows Sunday’s finale of season three, called The Vampire Lestat.
Ahead of its series premiere on July 26, adult swim has renewed President Curtis for a second season. Season Two of the Rick and Morty spinoff series will continue the adventures of President Curtis and his team as they confront new cryptid threats, unexpected allies, and increasingly bizarre sci-fi missions.
The Walking Dead: Dead City returns for season three July 26 on AMC. Maggie (Cohan) and Negan (Morgan) finally put aside their differences to build the first thriving community in Manhattan since the apocalypse, but when chaos begins to arise, they are forced to question: will their dark past spell doom for the entire city? It was also announced that the fourth and final season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon starring Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride will premiere in 2027.
Season two of adult swim’s Common Side Effects is current in production. The half-hour series follows Marshall and Frances, two former high school lab partners who share a secret: Marshall has discovered the world’s greatest medicine, a mushroom that can heal almost anything. But getting it out into the world won’t be easy – the DEA, big pharma, and international businessmen are all on the chase to stop them.
Paramount+ has canceled Crutch after one season. The comedy series was a spinoff of the CBS series The Neighborhood and starred Tracy Morgan.
Robin Givens has been cast in the upcoming third season of Cross. Givens will recur in the Prime Video series based on the Alex Cross book series. Season three will continue to expand the high-stakes world of the iconic character, building on the show’s gripping storytelling and powerful performances.
Crunchyroll has removed some series from its streaming service with no warning. Titles removed include Black Lagoon, Barakamon, Blood Blockade Battlefront, Grimgar, Ashes and Illusions, Orange, Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers and the live action As the Gods Will. Each series also featured an English dub.
Following the release of an animated short earlier this year, a full twenty episode season of Backyard Sports: The Animated Series is on the way. The series is based on the video game series which started with Backyard Baseball. ESPN and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) have reached a new multi-year media rights agreement that will bring the conference’s basketball championships, along with marquee regular-season football and basketball competition, to ESPN networks through the 2030-31 academic year. The agreement includes global rights and ESPN will annually present nearly two dozen regular-season football games, including select games on ESPN linear networks, MEAC Men’s Basketball Tournament Championship on a linear ESPN network, MEAC Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship on a linear ESPN network, and more.
The English dub of Though I Am an Inept Villainess premieres July 26 on Crunchyroll. As maidens from the Five Clans battle for the Crown Prince’s heart, jealous Keigetsu uses forbidden magic to swap bodies with the beloved Reirin.
