Soap opera Hollyoaks will make its debut on Shout! TV June 1. Hundreds of episodes of the series will be available to stream for free on AVOD for the first time. The series follows the lives, loves, and losses of a group of teenagers and their families as they go through high school, college, and into the world of work in the fictional village of Hollyoaks in Chester, England.

King of the Hill returns this summer on hulu with the season fourteen premiere August 4. Set in the fictional Arlen, Texas, the original series followed the life of Hank Hill, an enthusiastic seller of propane and propane accessories; his wife, Peggy, local Boggle champ and substitute teacher; and their son, Bobby, who defied any expectation his father had for a son. Hank’s friends – conspiracy theorist Dale, military barber Bill, and cool but inarticulate Boomhauer, along with Peggy’s friends Minh and meteorologist Nancy, and Bobby’s friend Connie helped the Hills navigate a changing world. After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane. Toby Huss will take over the role of Dale Gribble following the death of original actor Johnny Hardwick. Hardwick will be credited for the episodes he appears in, recorded prior to his passing.

Today, at ATX TV Festival, AMC Networks presented a panel featuring executive producers from all three series within its Anne Rice Immortal Universe, giving attendees a look inside the interconnected, supernatural world of Anne Rice on AMC and AMC+, sharing production and casting updates and a first look at the newest series in the expanding Universe, Anne Rice’s Talamasca. Celine Buckens rounds out the series regular cast with Jason Schwartzman set to guest star. Buckens stars as Doris, strong-willed and with an old soul, she lives with a coven of witches on a houseboat, while Schwartzman portrays Burton, a charming, rakish vampire, leading a cloistered life in a luxurious Upper West Side penthouse. Buckens and Schwartzman join the previously announced ensemble of Nicholas Denton, Elizabeth McGovern, William Fichtner and Maisie Richardson-Sellers. Interview with the Vampire is set to start production next month on its third season in Toronto, which will follow Sam Reid’s Vampire Lestat and his rock band on tour. Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, led by Alexandra Daddario, is currently in the writers’ room for Season 3, which will be set in Salem, MA, the infamous town of witch trials and folklore, and dive deeper into the mythology of witchcraft, introduce new ‘spellbound’ families and feature some of the historical happenings of Salem.

National Geographic goes behind the scenes of the legendary blockbuster Jaws July 10 with Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story. This definitive account offers an unfiltered look at the chaos and creativity behind the making of Jaws, featuring never-before-seen footage from Spielberg’s and Benchley’s personal archives, including home videos and rare outtakes. Through candid new reflections, Spielberg recounts the high-stakes production, from battling a malfunctioning mechanical shark and relentless weather delays to his own post-production PTSD and fears the film would end his career. The documentary also reexamines the infamous “Jaws effect” – the wave of shark fear it unleashed – and reframes it as a legacy of awe, curiosity and enduring respect for the ocean’s top predator. Complemented by brand-new interviews with cast, crew, filmmakers and shark advocates, it captures the full creative and cultural shockwaves of the first summer blockbuster. In addition to Steven Spielberg, the documentary includes exclusive interviews from original cast and crew – including Joe Alves (production designer), Jonathan Filley (Cassidy), Lorraine Gary (Ellen Brody), Carl Gottlieb (Meadows, screenwriter), Jeffrey Kramer (Hendricks), Ian Shaw (son of Robert Shaw, who played Quint), Jeffrey Voorhees (Alex Kintner), and composer John Williams – and a who’s who of modern filmmakers and superfans – including J.J. Abrams, Emily Blunt, James Cameron, Cameron Crowe, George Lucas, Greg Nicotero, Jordan Peele, Steven Soderbergh, Guillermo del Toro, Robert Zemeckis, and more – reflect on how Jaws shaped their work and the cinematic landscape.
