Butterfly premieres August 13 with all six episodes. The series is a character-driven spy thriller that explores complex family dynamics within the treacherous world of global espionage. It’s centered on David Jung, an enigmatic, highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative living in South Korea, whose life is blown to pieces when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him, and he finds himself pursued by Rebecca, a deadly, sociopathic young agent assigned to kill him, and Caddis, the sinister spy organization she works for. 

Season three of Perfect Match premieres August 1 on Netflix. New episodes will roll out each Friday for three weeks. The series brings together the most famously single stars of Netflix’s unscripted series to a tropical paradise in an attempt to find love. For the first time in the series history, singles from the Netflix Reality Universe will be joined by icons from Bachelor Nation, Love Island, and other fan-favorite shows. As they compete to form relationships, the most compatible couples will play matchmaker, breaking up other couples and sending them on dates with brand-new singles they’ll invite to the house. Will they create better matches, or will they create chaos? In this over-the-top journey of strategy and dating hosted by Nick Lachey, only one couple will be crowned the Perfect Match. 

Psychological thriller The Girlfriend starring Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke premieres September 10 on Prime Video. Based on Michelle Frances’ novel of the same name, the series follows Laura, a woman who seemingly has it all: a glittering career, a loving husband, and her precious son, Daniel. Her perfect life begins to unravel when Daniel brings home Cherry, a girlfriend who changes everything. After a tense introduction, Laura becomes convinced Cherry is hiding something. Is she a manipulative social climber, or is Laura just paranoid? The truth is a matter of perspective. 

The Love Island USA reunion special will premiere August 25 on Peacock. The reunion will be hosted by Ariana Madix and Andy Cohen. The reunion special will feature this season’s winners, fan-favorite couples, and this year’s bombshells for an up close and personal look back at their experience in the Villa. Later this summer, Ariana Madix will host the upcoming second season of Love Island Games, premiering on September 16. The second season will bring together fan-favorite Islanders from various Love Island series across the globe – USA, UK, Australia and beyond. In this cheeky new iteration, couples will compete in challenges while navigating dating, eliminations, recoupling, dramatic arrivals, and new competition twists and turns that help control the game like never before. UK comedian Iain Stirling reprises his role as narrator. Also, streaming now is the series premiere of Love Island: Beyond The Villa. The series follows everyone’s favorite Season 6 Islanders around Los Angeles as they navigate new careers, evolving friendships, newfound fame, and complex relationships outside of the Love Island villa. The cast includes JaNa Craig, Aaron Evans, Miguel Harichi, Leah Kateb, Kaylor Martin, Connor Newsum, Serena Page, Kenny Rodriguez, Olivia Walker, and Kendall Washington, with appearances from other former Islanders. 

The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball premieres July 28 on hulu. Welcome back to Elmore, where the laws of reality are a joke, and family life is anything but ordinary. Whether he’s battling an evil fast-food empire, facing off against a sentient AI in love with his mom, or trying to stop Banana Joe from wearing pants – Gumball Watterson drags his brother Darwin, sister Anais, and the rest of the town of Elmore along for the ride. With even wilder stories, bigger twists, and surreal humor, the show is so amazing that they had to rename it! 

Ready to Love is back with even more passion, drama, and romantic twists as Season 10 continues its journey in Philadelphia, August 1 on OWN. Viewers return to the City of Brotherly Love to reignite the search for lasting love among its most eligible singles. Hulu has announced Gabby Windey as host of new reality dating series Love Overboard. Get ready to hit the high seas! Step aboard the ultimate luxury yacht, where sexy singles are ready to mix and mingle … and find love. But there’s a twist … gaining access to the yacht’s extravagant amenities won’t be so simple. Prime Video announced that Karlis Arnolds Avots, Rod Hallett, Alina Tomnikov, Sisse Marie, and Rune Temte will join the cast of the upcoming original series, Bloodaxe as series regulars. Jesper Christensen will star in a recurring role. The series is an epic historical drama, created, written, and executive produced by Michael and Horatio Hirst, which chronicles the rise of one of history’s most famous Norse raiders, Erik Bloodaxe, and his formidable wife Gunnhild, Mother of Kings. As they fight for the throne of Norway, the land is torn apart by fierce rivals, shifting loyalties, and bloody betrayals. With war looming and chaos consuming the kingdom, drawing in the ruthless Kings of other Scandinavian countries, and even a powerful English ruler, the stage is set for a thundering, cataclysmic, compelling and utterly magical new Norse Saga. 

Shark Tank, the business-themed unscripted series that celebrates entrepreneurship in America, returns to ABC and Hulu Wednesdays this fall with a powerhouse lineup of business tycoons and Guest Sharks featured throughout the season. Guest Sharks include Allison Ellsworth, Chip and Joanna Gaines, Alexis Ohanian, Kendra Scott, Michael Strahan, Fawn Weaver, and Rashaun Williams. Production has begun on HBO’s Harry Potter series. Newly announced cast include Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander. The series will debut in 2027 on HBO. 

ABC News and Disney+ announced What You Need to Know, a new weekday news show anchored by chief international correspondent James Longman and senior political correspondent Rachel Scott, which will premiere July 21, exclusively on Disney+. The short-form streaming series will be ABC News’ first original daily news program created for Disney+, with episodes premiering at 6 a.m. ET.

Filming has begun on Netflix’s The Map of Longing. The series is an adaptation of the novel by Spanish writer Alice Kellen. It tells the moving story of Greta, who claims she was born with the purpose of saving her sister Lucy, who suffers from leukemia, through her stem cells. However, events take an unexpected turn and Lucy passes away, leaving Greta with a deep existential void. Before departing, Lucy creates “El mapa de los anhelos,” a game that challenges Greta to face her grief and discover her own path. On this journey, Greta will meet Will, an enigmatic young man with a haunting past. Can we love someone without loving ourselves?
