Tonya Lee Williams (Olivia) is heading back to The Young and the Restless at the end of September. Williams, a two-time NAACP Image Award winner for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series, was last seen in April 2007 when Olivia returned after the death of her sister Drucilla (Victoria Rowell).
"I’m back at the end of September," the actress said to TV Guide Canada journalist Nelson Branco. "I have no idea what my storyline is or who’ll I’ll be involved with. I won’t sign a long-term contract because of my film career and Reel World Festival responsibilities, but I’d pull a Tracey Bregman and continue in good faith."
Williams is the founder & president of Reel World, an annually held film festival which spotlights multicultural movies. The actress founded the festival due to the lack of positive diverse stories on screen and lack of opportunities for talent of color breaking into the Canadian Entertainment industry.
Hopefully Victoria Rowell won’t be too far behind….
